  1. Just an update. Openreach have decided they need to install "traffic management" for the installation of the fibre internet. I laughed. It's an unadopted highway and you can imagine I've had electric/water etc. chopping it up in the past with no issues ( apart from neighbours bitching of course ). Then BT told me maybe April!!!! FFS! I think was my response. I was then told since I had applied for install in Nov 21 I would get £5.14 (I think ) a day until the fibre is fully installed and functional. So I reckon 900 quid. Guess I'll manage with relatively slow 4G connection until then. Cannot wait to see the "traffic management" for what is just a very simple lane entrance. This alone will piss the neighbours off more much to my amusement. Photo's to follow in April!
  2. Pointless isn't that bad.

I’m still confused why you couldn’t just bed the flint in upright with cement . Just do a few rows a day and point it . Just like building a stone wall . What have I missed ??

Just expanding foam the entire shite ffs!
  10. I did this. But when Virgin installed their cable through ducting they didn't do this. For 2 years no issue. Then for weeks I saw little patches of water on the floor but couldn't see any evidence of how it had entered the build. Then one day I hear the fateful "drip" - ran into the room with my torch and saw it. Water tracking along their internet line through narrow ducting. Let the rain stop. Then foam gunned as far in as I could. So far so good .
  11. Because a part of your appendage is the same length.
  12. Yep; if you are SE and have big debts no one wants to be your friend. I would use a recommended broker as there are ways to "work around this" - as a for example ;remortgage as a BTL . This may avoid some issues you are having but may indeed create others. It's all a bit of a game ...

  16. Yes. This is the exactly the type of thing we are having. 10 -> 15mm thick though so similar to a normal wall tile; I believe

You already have the time. You just need to let the important things that you must do fade to the side. TIME created!. Now (expletive deleted) about to your hearts content!
  20. I think I know what I will do / attempt. Top part ( timber frame ) 3x2 running horizontal 30cm apart. Then the backer board can attach direct to those ( backer is 120cm x 60cm ); so just noggins at the ends. Lower part just do whatever I want and then just 'ledge' to upper part to suit.
  21. I do like. But may be slightly beyond my capability!!!
  22. My sins on show!. NEVER!. Hide everything....
