Keep fighting . Don’t quit . What are their reasons to object ? . Most neighbors are full or shit ; make lots of noise but don’t do much

New build floorplans - opinions welcome

Ffs get a new architect. If the architect can’t glean from you what you like and take that into account to please the a hole planners then he is just happily taking your cash . Remember you are the boss - you are paying him . Go in your local planning portal find approved planning designs you like - usually you’ll find an architect mentioned multiple times . Also / or ( at more cost ) look which architects design for the wealthiest areas in your town - talk to them . Will they cost more ? Yes . Is it worth it ? - probably. A fantastic but expensive design is better than a crap cheaper one . -

Although no one could of predicted the gas/electric price hikes ( or perhaps they could? ) - to me it was obvious that any fossil fuel is a time restricted issue. Also UK electric consumption will double over the next decade ( partially due to shifting from gas ). So whilst I was laughed at with a Tesla battery ROI being pointless - I was right ( smug git ). Already locked in my price for more PV and more battery storage additions. You lot are playing catch-up - so costs of those will undoubtedly reflect the supply and demand economics. Stop thinking and act! ? ( nearest I could find to a smug emoji ) -

My octopus energy export rate has gone from 3p to 4.1p (36% increase ). Not that I want to sell it to anyone. -
Or they used my special "DeWalt Squirrel Saw" as suggested by @Mr Punter

I see . Thought maybe it could measure the flow rate in the pipe over a period of time . Other than that install cctv in bathroom and set a ‘trigger’ zone over the pan . As a bonus get some nice footage

I’m none the wiser . Is a big job bigger than a proper job ?

Can it not differentiate between a big flush and little flush ??

Tbh I looked at a way of boosting the mvhr when a ? is done . I have a manifold of manifolds so everything has its own pipework for water feed . Therefore in theory a “ flow sensor “ on the the toilet cistern pipework could trigger the mvhr boost . But I have a million much more fun / destructive HA things to implement at the moment.

I reckon that can be made....

A man that takes a problem and claims there is no problem is a woman. A man that takes a problem and complicates it so it's a problem for another man is a CHAMPION! The said 2nd man needs to man up .

Fence posts in fresh backfill

Also I used 'lite' weight concrete posts. Cost a bit more but much easier if you are doing it on your own. -
Fence posts in fresh backfill
Pocster replied to John T's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
I had a slightly similar issue. I wanted concrete fence posts but all my ground had been dug out and would be back filled ( underground house ). I was worried the 'earth' wouldn't be solid enough. So I shuttered the length I needed and plenty of depth. I then placed chucks of PIR insulation where each post would go ( with some allowance for play! ). From memory I wedged / screwed them in situ to the osb / scaff board shuttering. Then got a lorry load of concrete pumped in along the shuttered trench. Not sure if that's the best way to do it!. Once concrete cured fixing the posts was easy ( more work trying to get the PIR out ). Concrete posts have been up 4 years now - not one has moved. Hope my explanation is clear. -
