  1. Kitchens and home assistant are where the real men hang their tackle out .
  2. I’ll try my best . Been busy doing intellectually higher things than tiling and plumbing . That’s so beneath me now .
  3. Experience has made my wise beyond my years . Yet my knowledge lands on usually deaf ears … ” Old Chinese Pocsterisim “
  4. The glory hole doorbell ! . Promised for so long , yet to deliver …
  5. Is it finished ?
  6. Infra red in bathrooms . No one sees anything - but paid for subscriptions see everything 💰
  7. Is it finished yet ?
  8. Actually they have a few cases with fans …
  9. I got the default cooler https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/raspberry-pi-5-active-cooler?variant=41044554580051
  10. Performance boost over the 4 is nice . You’ll probably need some proper cooling though …
  11. Gave up with farnel . Went to Rs - loads in stock . Been playing today - at best I’m only 79% person . Frigates a barrel of laughs to use isn’t it …… 🫤😊
  12. You are my hero
  13. You hook up an ip cam through frigate on onlyfans you’ll make a fortune . People will pay to watch the Cornish cream their scones .
  14. I just bought an i5 NUC to run ha oss straight on it ( i5 will be overkill of course - but I like headroom for expansion ) - 16gb should be enough 😊. Frigate ( migrating from blu iris because it’s windows ! ) . Just got to find a usb ; flash Ubuntu- then see . Better do some work first on kitchen so SWMBO sees “ progress “
  15. You need to allocate playtime at Xmas for this 😊
  16. Object recognition. So instead of masking in your nvr and having false triggers ( cat , windy day etc ) you can actually recognise a ‘person’ for example with a certain degree of accuracy. Google coral tpu video or something . You’ll see tests . 0.8Tflops of processing can be given to a meagre raspberry pi for example .
  17. Yep planning on frigate presume I can dedicate an x86 NUC to home assistant and run this as an add on
  18. Farmell have them cheapest at 60 quid Just ordered
  19. Anyone got one ? . Wondering if it’s worth it ? In theory ; performance vs cost it should be .
  20. I’m only going to initially do that one side . I can’t do up to the glass as that is in the roof / floor . So just in the ceiling void . Maybe 30 cm by 60cm - something like that . Probably though buy 1 whole 25mm sheet
  21. It’s a plan .
  22. I’ll rephrase … “ I’m past the celotex stage “
  23. Of course I have no celotex so late in my build . All those off cuts skipped - typically 🫤 Will let it get worse first 🤣
  24. That’s kind of what I’m asking . Should I celotex the area on the upstand in the light well ? . Can just about get my hands in there …
  25. Not an issue yet . Roof light well is tile backer board with foil backed ceiling tile stuck to it . Ceiling had to be fire resistant tiles ( just a fibre glass backing ) Whilst not a major issue yet can only assume will get worse . I could get this tile out - but then what ? . Try and ‘line’ in the Lightwell backside ? . Cover back of replacement tile in foil ???
