  1. Raspberry pi , picore player , any speakers you want . Cheaper than all other options and dead reliable. If not tech savvy then forget it
  2. I haven’t looked at this yet . When I said I’m near to vat claim ; ‘ near ‘ is quite wide …..
  3. I’m doing the same . Buy everything before the sign off / claim goes in . Just to be safe
  4. Check eBay British heart foundation as seller . Ignore advertised price . Ask if they will take an offer …. 👍
  5. A machine that tickles , sucks , wet wipes is the ultimate toy
  6. Actually looking at that template - I’ve almost got that apart from a seperate vat number column . Guess I’ll have to go through my 700 invoices and add it 🙄😊
  7. Appreciated . Like others I don’t want to ‘look’ at the website and then some cookie reports me 😊
  8. Yeah I saw that . Couldn’t see major differences between that and s8 ultra pro ( apart from price )
  9. I’m relatively close to vat submission. Online you don’t need to list / upload each invoice ?? . I have a crude spreadsheet - can I copy n paste that in ?
  10. I guess I think of a robot vac like a dishwasher . We don’t need a dishwasher - we could do it ourselves or pay someone to do it . It’s a tedious repetitive task so we buy a dishwasher ( 700 ish for decent brand ) . Same with vacing and washing floors .
  11. Ever employed cleaners ? . Rarely do a good job or turn up . Managed to get this a fair bit cheaper than retail price . Have an S7 upstairs ; does a pretty good job until it finds swmbo’s clothes on the floor …. Downstairs ; where this s8 will be placed is 100sq m of floor tiling . I ain’t cleaning that . Once you have a robot vac then 90% of human vac’ing stops . They aren’t perfect and clearly can’t fit in some tight areas . S8 has seperate water bins for clean and dirty . Also dries the mop . It’s mopping ability ( pressure applied and vibration speed ) has been improved immensely as has object detection ( for avoidance ) . Unlike a human cleaner ( whom could easily cost a grand a year ) I can shout , swear , curse and kick for my pleasure . Robot vacs use to be a bit crap I.e novelty value ( strangely enough like people’s perceptions of solar , batteries , ASHP I.e gimmick money ) The s7 imho was the generation I’d class as a proper robot vac . Not perfect - but good . S8 should exceed that .
  12. That’s not my staircase btw
  13. To go with his s7 sibling
  14. Nothing bad then ! - that’s what worries me . I’ll try and see tomorrow. Really don’t like this stuff ; appreciate your help !
  15. Yeah ; as I’m out my depth completely I won’t be doing any of that . Whats the worst that can happen getting Live round the wrong way ? 🙄😫
  16. Ok . I listen to your point - I really do ! How should I test each “ live “ to see which it is . Preferably with circuit off ; or is that not possible ?.
  17. Nah ! That’s for pussies
  18. (expletive deleted) it . 50/50 chance . I’ll just wire “ as I see fit “ ( said that to a judge once when I was caught with scrotum clips to a car battery in the local park ) .
  19. Current switch as is...
  20. Don't like it when people say that.....
  21. Never understood why british standards don't have Live (i.e. powered as opposed to live to light ) marked on the cable. Lots of Pocster's have probably died attempting such things.
  22. I'm still confused on the no neutral thing (I didn't realise this switch didn't need a neutral ). With no neutral and the switch off it won't be powered and therefore surely can't report or be controlled via Zigbee? But if neutral is connected ( where too? ) then it is 'powered' and so acts like a smart switch correctly? No understand. Switch is neutral free. Destructions show neutral connected to squiggle ( why a squiggle?; what's it meant to represent - not seen that before ). - confusion hate electrics - so dangerous.. I might send it back
  23. I don't mind it not working if I get it round the wrong way. But will something go bang and I shit myself?
  24. Ok . So squiggle is L out . If I get them round the wrong way ; what will happen ? 🙄. Do I test each L against the neutral to determine which is which ? ( out of my limited knowledge depth here ) . edit: with power off !
  25. Sorry; what I meant is current switch is a simple affair i.e. 2 brown lives that complete in the switch - there is a neutral but it's not used. This new switch has a L but also a P and "squiggle" symbol. So which of those is L out? ; think that's what I'm asking.
