  1. Seems a pity to cover this side of the stub wall with plasterboard. It's in the cupboard so would make very useable shelf space methinks. The long gap is reserved for my bog roll dispenser of course. But what to "line" the timber with? First thought was varnished marine ply but the missus is a "wipe clean / white" type. (Married the wrong bloke there!) Thinking plastic of some sort. Might have a chat with these people who I've used for work and will do small, private orders. They cut too. http://www.davis-plastics.co.uk
  2. I used S'fix No Nonsense spray adhesive Mine though is like corrugated cardboard with EPS attached. I stuck it to the thick blue DPM. It also has a self adhesive strip down to the foil.
  3. Dinky 128GB USB 3.0 flash drive cheap, free postage: https://www.mymemory.co.uk/USB-Flash-Drives/Lexar/Lexar-128GB-JumpDrive-S45-USB-3.0-Flash-Drive-150MB_s---Black Just bought two of the 32GB Lexar micro SD cards for £16 inc p&p.

  5. He'd best hurry up by the look of him...
  6. I used SBR to dust proof the raw concrete bathroom floor. No dust issue any more. This as I'd heard PVA is maybe not the best if you're going to tile later. For the double garage I aquired over the years numerous shades of grey floor paint. All single pack and different makes. First I rotary wire brushed and vacuumed the floor clean. I tipped the lot into a 5 gallon fermenting bin and used a soft broom head to spread. Came up a treat. Effed it up recently when a 5L tin of red oxide fell over and spilt. Not full luckily and was able to peel it off in pretty much one sheet. Took off the floor paint too right back to the concrete! Squirrel problem in the eaves I think. The place stinks. Plus it's more storage than workspace.
  7. Draper's version if you want to sit in the cheap seats: http://www.workshopping.co.uk/product/draper-14-pocket-bucket-shaped-bag/02984/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=shop&utm_campaign=feed&gclid=CL3DyZ3CvNICFQQz0wodClwKQQ Not a patch on that Makita one though.
  8. I'm liking JH's bucket tool holder. I'm having visions of upended, empty silicon tubes attached around the perimeter of a bucket.....maybe some DPC used to make a bandoleer and fixed together with Pop rivets and penny washers......big stuff goes in the bucket, pointy, long things in the tubes.....
  9. That's looking favourite tbh. Maybe use one for storing SDS bits.....
  10. Made myself a tote a while back from 18mm Buffalo board. 25mm galv conduit handle, sheet aluminium base. Meant for all my plumbing gear. But by Christ is it cumbersome! Measures 600x460 on plan. On the scales it's only apparently 1.5KG but feels heavier. Loaded with a few big Bachos etc it's very awkward. Think the main problem is it's too wide so a pig to get through doorways plus you hold it further away from your body. Guess I got the ergonomics wrong! Seems a pity to scrap it.....
  11. You'd agree that Zorin was very close to Windows in look and feel? Ubuntu has a lovely feel to it and is more "Linux". Looks as cool as ***k too! For a newbie who is used to Windows & just wants a pc that'll work with some familiarity then I don't think you can beat Zorin.
  12. Honestly, just give Linux a try! Go for Zorin OS - it's the closest one to "Windows" in terms of look and feel. It's super friendly. PM me your address and I'll send you a stick/disc. I did the same for someone else on here a while back, @Crofter I think?
  13. The walls of UFH pipe are silky smooth though!
  14. I ran mine in just another length of Pex-Al-Pex UFH pipe capped at the end with tape. Goes to the "dead zone" but I can pull the cable back to put it amongst the pipes if necessary. Think it was @Nickfromwales said about running in pipe and @PeterW who donated the sensor? EDIT: Belt and braces if the sensor fails!
  15. I too use Saxton. I wish though they would do their 35 & 65mm wood bits that bit longer so you can go through 4"x2" without hitting the spot welded bit the blade is attached to.
  16. Mental! When I spoke to Crayford / Dartford about the meter boards they couldn't have been more helpful. Confirmed the warehouse stock and were happy to order in for the next day all based on a phone call. Must be a branch thing. EDIT: One thing I will say is I like their 20mm galv couplers etc. Heavy duty compared to say Electricfix. Almost justifies that they're twice the price!
  17. Starrett cutter put down... ...whilst I wait for the deep series 102mm Starrett to arrive!
  18. I was going to suggest that for him but had a pot/kettle realisation.....
  19. So is it open season for suggestions?
  20. 500mm B&Q flexi: Hopefully long enough to get through the stub wall: If not there's always this:
  21. Someone was looking for a generic cheap drill a little while back? In B&Q earlier:
  22. Bought a litre of IPA at Maplin for £14.99!
  23. How do you apply this cement in the tube? I mean with the brush on solvent it's brush on both surfaces push together and twist and the brush can get right in. Not so easy with the tube.....
