Bath Surround / Boxing In, and concealed pipework
Onoff replied to Onoff's topic in Bathrooms, Ensuites & Wetrooms
Followed Mr @Nickfromwales instructions (going back months ) and all seems to be good on the solvent welded soil. Even ref the brown soil pipe. Did NOT think the spray nozzle was going to get around this fitting. I tried it actually in the bathroom first but found getting the right spray pattern then fighting to get it round the corner was messy and there was some stinky "blow back". So had a dry run with spare bits: Needs a nudge when the hose is on: What I found easiest was to set the wanted spray pattern in the garden then turn off at the tap. Then drag the hose in still set on that pattern and jiggle into the pipe. This way there's no worry of water going everywhere. Then and only then did I turn the tap back on: -
I once saw a faux Georgian window made from 300x300 mirror tiles and white PVC electrical trunking. It reflected "woodland" wallpaper on the opposite side of the bedroom. Sounds naff but very effective. The guy had even made drapes and a pelmet for it.

I say I want, she says I don't /it's too expensive. Eventually it comes up cheap on eBay by which time it's taken so long she'll accept anything. You need to out stare them. Blinking is fatal.

I REALLY should have put a tee here where it sweeps up from the trench and under the footings (if you can call them that). I want to continue mains water up the garden to the left of the pic later on maybe. Getting in through / making off inside was one pig I didn't want to revisit but hey ho that's the bit I'll have to redo! A little tip. The above MDPE to brass stopcock (brand new) leaked no matter what I did. The good folk on here pointed me to various magical compounds and I settled on Jet Blue Plus. Expensive but worth every penny. Lubes the brass so no squeaking as you tighten as well as sealing: http://www.plumbcenter.co.uk/product/center-center-jet-blue-plus-500-g/

I'm not getting the recipe am I?

We've got their meter/stopcock outside the fence. Inside our fence another stopcock (the old meter position). 25mm MDPE all the way into the house where there's a brass stopcock. I'll be teeing off from the MDPE to garage, up the garden etc as required.

When it comes to any project in our house WE ALWAYS AGREE... That it's going to take ages!
-
Tbh I'll probably use my Evolution electric wacker plate seeing as I haven't made the other one yet!
-
I get to wear the hat with the big D on then!

I need to get rid of some hard-core so reckon I should get on with the shed (base) under the tree house. It's only about 10'x5'. You honestly don't need to hire a compacter. I did my last base with a hand tamper. Just a weight on pole you lift and drop.

In an attempt to find the cheapest mower... Bet they won't beat this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/352073280887?chn=ps&dispItem=1&adgroupid=45192390362&rlsatarget=pla-331477165372&abcId=1129006&adtype=pla&merchantid=7457754&poi=&googleloc=9045888&device=m&campaignid=861899495&crdt=0&ul_ref=http%3A%2F%2Frover.ebay.com%2Frover%2F1%2F710-134428-41853-0%2F2%3Fmpre%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fwww.ebay.co.uk%252Fi%252F352073280887%253Fchn%253Dps%2526dispItem%253D1%26itemid%3D352073280887%26targetid%3D331477165372%26device%3Dm%26adtype%3Dpla%26googleloc%3D9045888%26poi%3D%26campaignid%3D861899495%26adgroupid%3D45192390362%26rlsatarget%3Dpla-331477165372%26abcId%3D1129006%26merchantid%3D7457754%26gclid%3DCNnjmdq4kNUCFZEy0wodHsUGmg%26srcrot%3D710-134428-41853-0%26rvr_id%3D1259863328223 Surely buy two for the second battery and spares?

That Costco Honda might fit the bill then, leccy and a good make?
-
Maybe some deals here: http://www.costco.co.uk/view/c/garden-sheds-patio/power-equipment/lawn-mowers-trimmers Only looked at the cheap electric Honda and MTD Smart petrol to compare prices but look reasonable as in cheaper than elsewhere on a quick trawl.

Your missus is sorting it!

My BiL's tractor with pto auger is good but hit a big root or flint and it'll throw it off. I'll still dig the odd one manually...just to keep my hand in.

Other end of that brown soil comes into this branch. Picking up a no name spray set for £3.99 to shove down the Geberit end. Just got to make sure it's not the one the kids use for water fights! -
Are you laying it herringbone?
-
Get yourself a BFO trampoline (with net) and set it on bark / landscaping fabric. That'll keep the kids occupied whilst the grass establishes itself. And stepping stones too as required.

Thinking about it the Hozelock POS spray nozzle I bought broke, it's cr@p. Avoid. Has a button you can hardly push and varies the spray pattern on its own from where it's set. Think I know where the bits are so should take it back really. http://www.screwfix.com/p/hozelock-hose-nozzle-plus/5806t#product_additional_details_container -

On the two grey/grey joints I've even run pvc solvent filler (that expensive stuff in a tube someone said to get) almost like a weld fillet after the main joint had set. Same on the brown/grey on the half I can get to. Was even debating on the brown/grey a few wraps of amalgamating tape then expanding foam around the lot... -
What you want is a Seymour Post Hole Auger. Up to 8' deep it'll go. Sort of a closeable bucket on the end.
-
Fair play to her. You should go away more often! Maybe if I fecked off for a bit the bathroom would get done...

Missus.....and don't tell the hoover!

Longer handles.
