13m distance from CU to cooker = poor design?
Onoff replied to epsilonGreedy's topic in Consumer Units, RCDs, MCBOs
You can have a play with volt drop here: https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Technical/Charts/VoltageDrop.html The calculation behind this is volt drop = (mV/A/m) x lb x L 1000 Where: mV/A/m is the mili volt drop per amp per metre. Get that from the regs or OSG. Cable spacing and the reference method means the volt drop for a particular cable can vary. lb is the design current L is the length in metres and 1000...is erm 1000 to get it to volts. -
You can get 15mm in WBP ply.

Preferred the Lancaster Bomber and the Brakspear Bitter tbh. Got a Marstons Pedigree, Ruby Hobgoblin & Razor Back to finish the box. Not bad for just over £8: https://groceries.morrisons.com/webshop/product/Classic-Ales-Bottles/217666011 -
Shame this isn't available in RAL colours. I put 3 coats on my bare softwood gate and it still looks like new. http://bedec.co.uk/bedec_products/barn-paint/

Powered tonight by Jennings Cumberland Ale I'm psyching myself up to move this grey bog pipe! It needs to swing left to come parallel with the lagged incoming water pipe. I'm going to have to re-drill the hole for the far 25mm conduit to keep things parallell. Poxy tapered walls! A quick "sort it later 'coz it'll be redone in 22mm", why did I kink the 15mm at the end like that??? -

Erm.....putting that end comment up on a public forum and you're asking for it really! -
Many years ago on a site in Bracknell a CCTV monitor went down one howling, wet windy night. The security guards decided it was a glitch. If they had been doing their foot patrols they would have noticed the scaffold that had broken loose and taken the camera off the wall before landing in the car park. Sackings ensued.

Putting gas pipe in duct, do I need a registered gas fitter.

I think my mate John the chippy's son in law is GSR. Has a caravan down in Herne Bay. I know he can do the UVC checks as well as I was talking to him if I went that route. I'll ask. Not having gas, GSR isn't a worry for me really. (NOT his permanent place of residence I hasten to add).- 11 replies

You're no fun! But sketch something up and I'll consider changing my approach. A threaded rod will drive the lift.

You'd need a valid reason...just 'coz I haven't got one doesn't come into it! Don't get too excited as my ADHD will likely soon kick in & it'll get put to one side!

Batch drilling the arms: The 15mm long, 8mm dia spacers fitted beautifully in 8mm holes but they were for M4 bolts. I decided to up the pivot shaft size to M5. The 15mm long, 10mm dia spacers are a PIG to get in 10mm holes! Pressed a couple in with the vice but had to lightly csk the box. Might open to 10.2mm. But it'll work:

If I come out of the bathroom it means I have to talk to SWMBO! Tbh I shall probably move to doing the roof next as she's not good with heights. She was placated somewhat tonight. Had a bath and I put Meatloaf's greatest hits through the Bluetooth speakers for her. She didn't want "any of my rubbish on" as she puts it.

Something then like this: Got as far as cutting the box sections: It was meant to be a zero spend project but rather than make I bought some 15mm long nylon spacers for the pivot points: And then splashed out on some end caps for the box section. Spent about a tenner so far. Drilling next!

One of the pungent all in one's? Five Star maybe? I've been using this of late being on the cheap seats. Smells like it should work: https://www.toolstation.com/shop/Painting+%26+Decorating/d150/Exterior+Wood+Care/sd3176/Lumberjack+Triple+Action+Wood+Treatment+5L/p34502
