With 17 turns of tape they went in really quite easy tbh then got "tight" at the end. Could likely have put a few more turns on.

One of the kid's friend's CH/DHW has packed up. Single mum etc. Traditional pumped system, gas boiler, copper cylinder, 3-way valve. She's getting HW but only the 1st rad is getting warm and the second a bit warm. She reckons it sounds like there's a "nut" loose in what I assume is the air separator. Not sure on the valve make but the actuator is apparently easily removeable as in clip on/off: Existing pump. Assume the air separator above? The existing mid position valve: I have this Drayton one in the spares box. It's actuator clips on/off too. Would it be interchangeable? Cheers

Hiving this off from my "main" threads to save A N Other wading through pages to find such info. It's going roughly here: Assume I've the valves orientated correctly? How many turns of PTFE on these? The 20+ I did on the outside tape - brass to brass, when I did that and it felt fine. I did again 20+ when I did the wall outlet for the shower handset, again brass to brass and tbh it felt too much! The stand off, tubular brackets, should I add a drop of thread lock to these Allen screws? Cheers

Forever White stinks and gives me a headache! Done the bath end & sides but think I might go over it again as a bit low. They were quite deep joints though.

FFS he's doing a computer science degree living and breathing the stuff with like minded nerds. Hacking is part of the course. He'll just hack the neighbour's wi-fi.

I'll ask him when he's back from uni. It's black magic to me.

Bar mixer is simplest and cheap to replace. I'll be knocking out tiles if my concealed one goes wrong.

I used to change the password on my BT router to curb my lad and next thing he'd hacked it. Gave up in the end.

What's your thoughts on the dash of Fairy Liquid in water for smoothing silicone out of interest? I never know the ratio!

Is it possible to take someone else's design for say a battery adapter off of thingiverse etc and reverse the process converting it back to the .dwg or whatever model so you can alter it? Suspecting AutoCAD will throw a hissy fit.

I've just had a chicken shatkora... + pilau rice, sag paneer, sag aloo, garlic chicken, poppadums and peshwari naan). Only just made it up Rowdow @newhome, as in v.nearly ended up going back down in uncontrolled reverse! Kept telling myself in the curry house that it was only sleet.

Clear as thanks. Would Sika EBT be an alternative to the CT1? Seems somehow "tougher" when set yet still having some give. I've left: - 1 full and one 1/2 tubes of clear CT1 - 1/2 tube of black CT1 Power Grab 'n Bond - 1 tube of white Sika EBT - 1/2 tube clear Evostick The Dog's B@ll@cks. Going to need to do similar on the basin and pedestal.

I'm going to go and wind Internorm at Build It next weekend. Pretend I've got money but have been put off by the horror stories. -
The main worry is the grey to brown pvc solvent weld joint. It's female to male for a start. Then as brown pvc isn't keen on ordinary solvent weld cement it's joined with pvc gap filling cement backed up by a ring of CT1. My inexperience meant I didn't even consider the grey/brown issue. I was going to do all in push fit then someone suggested solvent weld if I had the balls!
