We'd need a few more roles of filament in this house... -
Why on a new build would you go for oil and not an ASHP?

Well you live and learn. Never knew such a product existed!

I decide what wine to drink on a case by case basis.

Dont care. I've just had a rainfall shower with Dash Berlin and Emma Hewitt and only the pocket lights to illuminate things. Feeling very chilled.....could be the lack of heating mind.....

I don't have deep pockets like some!

@pocster, allow me to assist you in spending your money: https://www.tileexperience.co.uk/schluter-kerdi-board-niches? https://www.wedi.de/en/products/building-systems/shelving-and-cladding/sanwell-niches/ Thermopanel another make. Of course you could eschew the ready made versions and make your own like all the best people do...

Slacker! Why's it going to take so long?

No need. He's got some windows to store in the gap.

First time for everything.

I've a load of those you're welcome to if you want. Was going to send to zoot for his kitchen but he did something else. (Plus I was worried about putting a return address on).

No To fill your empty lives. ?Subconsciously you've taken it all in, it's why it's a doddle now! No need for AP on the ceiling. I used in the wet room corner full height and behind the wc. Mrpb ( moisture resistant plasterboard ) everywhere else.

Mr Twat here: I oh so carefully marked 75mm graduations up my steel post and made a jig. The footings 4 courses came out a treat with a lovely 10mm mortar gap between each. Then not thinking, tired, rushing, whatever I went wrong putting muck on a welded support angle when there should have been none. Threw everything out and I missed the chance to correct it. Abandoned the jig thereafter and did the rest by eye. Trouble is I'm starting the other pillar tomorrow. If I do it "better" will it stand out? ?

Can I ask the reason why not to? Down here in the bottom of a misty valley, things go green real quick.
-
@nod, @Brickie evening! I'm anxious to try and prevent my nice new pillar(s) from leaching salts and going white. Going to give them a Disclean wash and rinse. Any issue, as it's new, if I then go over the brickwork with Thompsons water seal? Cheers

Your trouble is you see the World through rose tint...

Thought modern screws were designed to facilitate screwing into end grain? I pilot and glue anyway. Is MY bathroom going to fall down now? ?
-
-
That's pretty much it but I meant have the noggins level with the front sole plate so the screws aren't in shear. Neater too imo.
-
I wonder if it might be an idea to drop some short bits in between that new sole plate to the existing one at the bottom of the stud wall?
