  1. No help but...
  2. Used once to buy x2 2.5L tins of Waxoyl underbody sealant of all things. No issues tbh.
  3. Mine...is my brother in law's...I win!
  4. There's a few lads on the US solar forum use plain sand for heat storage. There used to be a mix we came across on commercial roofs that was always termed "light agg", light aggregate was what I took it to be. Futher reading suggests this was expanded clay balls called Lytag. Roofs were laid to falls on the stuff and it was often really, really thick. It was laid on top of the structural slab and before the asphalt. I always wondered if it had insulating properties because of the air gaps. 5. Because of price? Dulux is expensive.
  6. I was recommended it on here. It is very, very good. Possibly the best paint I've ever used tbh. It's got a very subtle sparkle to it to my eyes. For the pre coats inc a watered down 1st coat I used Leyland Super Leytex that's high opacity and good on new plaster. Tbh that looked bloody good on it's own. Any imperfections I filled with Easy Fill 20 before AND after the Super Leytex. (No I don't work for Deluxe or Leyland or British Gypsum!).
  7. What about 50mm of PIR then 22mm of something like ProWarm or AmbiChipBoard pre routed chipboard? Or would a light aggregate, sand cement mix be better for sound deadening? @ProDave on here did some sort of biscuit mix upstairs I think.
  8. Imo Dulux Trade Diamond Matt: https://www.duluxtradepaintexpert.co.uk/en/products/paint/dulux-trade/dulux-trade-diamond-matt?
  9. Bloke makes a boat out of it:
  10. Your road...a highway! ?
  11. I would expect them just to want to see the wall boards and ceiling boards but unpainted / pre decoration. Imagine if you painted the ceiling and they said how do we know it's fire board? Ring and ask. Tell is what they say.
  12. OTT. Vinyl tiles will butt up tight to each other. Looks very in keeping imo.?
  13. Agreed. Our workshop at work is dark (cast offs) carpet tiles. Murder vacuuming swarf out of it! Plus you can't hear where a screw went when you drop it.
  14. To be fair nothing happens until 14 seconds in and even then you have to look carefully to see anything. The sound is what makes it if you can get past the farm animal in pain.
  15. VLC is the kiddie. PC, Android, Linux. Quicktime was the old goto for .MOV files.
  16. He's behind the cameraman...
  17. That's old school and I've done similar many times but won't he end up with scuffed, sanded lines in what looks like nice, shiny, new boards? That'd annoy the Hell out of me if I had to live with it for a while before covering with lino or whatever.
  18. Chrome here. I can see the video but no sound. Using VLC. EDIT: I just turned the sound up. I think @pocster is molesting a cow in there...
  19. I'd run masking tape up either side of the gap then fill with one of the products designed to be a GAP FILLING ADHESIVE. Like No Nails, No More Nails, Instant Nails etc. Then take of the excess with a scraper, credit card etc. I typed "gap filling adhesive" into the Screwfix site. Use the cheapest I would. Peel the tape off whilst still wet and let it all set. You might even have a tube(s) of something lying around. Old carpet tiles are a cheap floor covering if you can get them. Search Freeads, Gumtree etc.
  20. You have to click on it and it downloads taking up valuable storage space on your device! ?
  21. Fireline from British Gypsum and Fire Panel by Knauf for example are indeed available in 12.5 and 15mm thicknesses. https://www.british-gypsum.com/products/gyproc-fireline?tab0=0 & https://www.knauf.co.uk/store/fire-panel/c-23/p-45 Whilst you're in lockdown, I wonder if you might revisit making a lifter from scrap bits lying around. Your ceiling height is pretty low after all. May a step too far for you?
  22. That blue Soundbloc board weighs just over 40kg per board. This sort of cheapo lift has only a 40kg capacity: The "better" types have around a 68kg capacity: You also want a plasterboard carrier to save your back amongst other things!
  23. A few Cemex Group quarries around Sussex: https://www.cemex.co.uk/find-your-location.aspx
  24. I'll have a look and see if I've a spare digital camera you can have for nothing.
  25. The Anycubic i3 Mega S we have will restart where it left off even after a power failure. Yesterday it ran out of filament. It senses this and pauses whilst you change the reel then carries on. No visible "join" or anything.
