  1. Not my cup of tea tbh but it's pretty representative of his mind. Said he's only just fitting some of the corten steel reeds.
  2. He's a bit special alright. It's all about the form. He did some cool MDF / rolled aluminium chequerplate desks a few years ago.
  3. I only found out "cess pit" after nearly 20 years here. Had it emptied. The fella said to leave some in the bottom so as not to get rid of all the "good" bugs.
  4. On the back of @epsilonGreedy's crane thread. This is the house built by Wayne Scott, a rather clever chap I know in NZ. A prolific "ideas" man. He'll design a desk then a crane. Often accompanied by beautiful charcoal sketches. Steel feature "reeds" are Corten steel about 5 years old:
  5. Pretty sure water was getting down through the tile trim on the window sill, it was loose. I prised it apart and filled with BT1 then Fugi'd / baby wiped off.
  6. What's wrong with using no grout and just silicone in tile joints?
  7. I've just used some BT1, straight in the gap between tile and end of bath. Bead of the same at the wall:
  8. What's that, a big gap?
  9. Only time this house has actually made money when Tom Hanks etc chose it for the film's location... ? The being swallowed by the carpet actually happened to me here but downstairs and to a lesser extent.
  10. Welcome! Knock the ****ing thing down and start again! ?
  11. A fella I used to work with here and in NZ built his own place over there...and his own crane to do it with... He's said it's still in the long grass at the back of the house and I'm welcome to come and get it! ?
  12. Yep. Turning the silver bit should isolate. Then unscrew the off white plastic bit. Have a washing up bowl ready as you'll likely get some water come out of the pipe. Go gentle removing that pipe as those self cutting valves are crap. Clip the removed hose to the clips on the back of the wm.
  13. Builders rubble/tree roots/clay flints...repeat. I am NOT enjoying digging this by hand! ☹
  14. When you say "my access road" is it yours or just the road to your property etc as there are specific depths to be adhered to when it comes to street works. Whatever, water is always 750mm afaik. Leccy 450mm min. They vary for instance if across agricultural land (say it might get ploughed). This might be of interest: V1-Positioning-Colour-Coding-Issue-8.pdf
  15. Certainly a BS degree... (& not baccalaureus scientiae)
  16. Why do some men go for women with small hands?
  17. When you just know that's false nail glue not tile adhesive! ?
  18. Ooh get her! You're not you when you're hungry!
  19. There was a lad killed by a stack of falling glass panels. Apparently he undid the brick banding and the whole lot toppled. Now the first one is banded to the transport frame. Second pane gets stacked against it and banding goes around the two. Next panel, banding round three and so on. Ensures only one panel can fall on you at a time.
  20. F***wit! Use the search function on here! (4001 ?)
  21. Got any tile files? You might be able to file that internal corner squarer.
  22. 4000 abusive posts to the same person count as 1. ?
  23. Dim the lights and divert their view...
  24. This was fun: Back tiles went on first: Then the bottom tile. My bottom tile is at a very slight angle. Then the top tile: Finally the sides: Yellow are 1mm packs.
