    I would not move their car as your neighbours already sound like pikey,s and will seek revenge (IMO). Do what the police say and leave a note so if it does escalate youā€™re squeaky clean. (Your contractors might just bounce it out the way fir you).

    Itā€™s good to hear that the police will get involved, I think you can only wait till Monday and see what they do then. It might be wise to put the polite notice and inclide that the police have said they will attend on Monday if it is not moved. Re @SteamyTea post above about fork lift trucks, an old friend of mine was a copper patrolling the Glastonbury festival many years ago and people parked their cars on single track roads stopping emergency vehicles having access so he was told to hire a fork lift and move them, he just put them in the ditch, all of themā€¦..

    I too supported all edges (cuz I am OCD). I donā€™t always use noggins but a scrap of ply to hold edges between joists just holds the edges mid span.

    I had a pin sieze (TRV not opening) so took the top off and wiggled the pin with pointed nose pliers (it had seized) but pulled it too far and black water spouted forth (with me desperately trying to re insert the pin) luckily no carpet and minimal re decoration needed. šŸ˜Ž I would imagine the pin is in an ā€œoā€ ring which maybe old if itā€™s leaking there. I donā€™t find TRV,s that expensive and might be worth replacing šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļøitā€™s just a pain draining down etc.

    Yes beware, if that pin comes out you will be covered in black water (ask me how I knowšŸ¤£) not sure about the nuts but on some that pin will just pop out. Others may know about the nuts but logically the top one should tighten on the pin.

    I had a similar problem a few years ago, water board came out (Bristol water) used a listening rod and found a leak right in the middle of my lawn, repaired it FOC and even estimated the water loss because of the leak and back payed me fir the lost water. I was amazed as I understood it was my pipe on my land and I was responsible, they did say however that if it happened again they would not do it a second time. So see what they say then come back to us. It depends on length of pipe work and whether lawn or concrete/tarmac as to severity of the job.

    If you are talking about a monoblock ASHP they do go outside, a split unit has an outdoor bit and the gubbins (compressor) inside , the amount of air from an MVHR unit is minimal, the air requirement for an ASHP is huge, one wonā€™t really impact on the other. edit, just read your link, this is a new animal to me, a totally indoor heatpump, no mention of COP (efficiency), will interesting to see what other build hubbers make of it.

    Donā€™t apologise Terry fir thinking (and doing) outside the box and proving your point in spades (actual cost over the years) yours is a good example of simply ā€œinsulate insulate insulate (and airtightness) ā€œ and the simplest and cheapest way to provide the little heat you need at minimum cost. (But able to change to an ASHP if required) an example to us all šŸ‘

    I used to think the same but now I am old and a bad back I am grateful (if i remember correctly this and switch heights were changed to make them more disabled friendly).

    Personally I donā€™t think those sister pieces of wood weight very much compared to the whole weight of the roof itā€™s more about sagging which you can measure with a piece of string tied to a nail at one end of the roof (half way down the slope, )pull it tight and go to the other end of the roof, when the string touches the middle joist how far from the joist at the end you are holding! (I hope I described that ok?) some sagging is inevitable but will give you an idea. Very DIYable, biggest problem is access, a scaffold tower or scaffold, donā€™t try this from a ladder.

    Remember there is no such thing as a daft question, daft is not asking, we all had to start somewhere šŸ‘ yes Coombs and eaves trays best way to stop birds getting in but still allow ventilation, eaves trays support roofing felt that often fails near the gutter so will extend the like of you roof.

    All timber moves and by the look of it the sag is minimal. At the eaves itā€™s quite normal (mostly with slate) to kick the last tile up slightly. Best get up in the loft and look at the actual timbers fir damage.

    I may be wrong but feel BC are being slopey shouldered. I feel (but open to be proved wrong) BC allowed manufacturers to test and certify their own products. Car makers have to crash test news cars over seen by NCAP,
