  1. With both Brett Martin and polypipe made here we get a good deal either way , I just like Brett Martin products better.
  2. All the Brett Martin range is quality. I used them for my sewers and the rain water gullies and you can see why they are a bit more expensive but Def worth it.
  3. No I had to get it to the pole and to the box inside my house. Did you put draw string in the duct??
  4. Nope. Bt guy came out and dropped me off the length of cable needed and told me where he wanted it brought to. Came back a few days later and hooked it up.
  5. You can use a brick cut in half if you can't get any of the 50mm blocks. If you can get the blocks just standard blocks will do.
  6. Time to put the big boy pants on and man d f up. Tell him straight that his time is up because of X,y,z and move on. You have already made your mind up so you just need a gentle push!! Go the DIY route and get someone in when needs must. Take each job as it comes and think it through as you usually do and you will be fine. Start knocking off the jobs and it won't be long till your sitting in your new pad wondering why you worried so much over the little bits of the build that drove you insane.
  7. Kingspan bought them out. Used to be widely used in NI for their cavity wall boards.
  8. I couldn't get any ct1 so used clear tec7 to bond my glass screen to the tray. 3 years on and it's still clear.
  9. Not really the architects fault if the guy measuring up makes a mistake writing the numbers down or the windows move about in transit or they have been offered up to the opening and beat into place to get them to fit.
  10. There the only reason to suffer the 5 mile hike around one of their stores, wife tends to forget stuff so we really take the scenic route. The Belfast store has no phone signal in it so can't even pretend I am interested and play on my phone.
  11. Don't get to hung up on the fact your Windows have to be up to passiv standard unless you are going for the full on certified route. You can quite easily blow a massive hole in your budget with Windows and leave you skimping else where. Set yourself a budget and stick to it. Even 2g Windows now are of a pretty high standard. Not much point in having passiv standard Windows and the rest of the house just meeting building regs.
  12. The peach version is so nice. There crunch range is nice mixed in with the muesli for a bit of added bite.
  13. When I said to have it with yogurt I meant natural yogurt with real fruit bits in it not one of the kids petit filous.
  14. Try it with flavoured yogurt much nicer than milk.
  15. I also used the same spray in my old house and as mentioned don't breathe it in. Once cleaned off I used this paint to cover it up and it never came back in the 3 years before I moved out. It's expensive but it works. http://www.screwfix.com/p/zinsser-self-priming-paint-white-2-5ltr/62096
  16. Hire both out from a tool hire shop. Most cats will come with a depth detection but they aren't really that accurate. You can only use these on a 100mm and larger pipe though. You don't need a Genny unless you are trying to trace the route of a cable that has metal in it. Not really the type of kit you would buy as it's uses are very limited so better off just hiring for a day/weekend.
  17. You need one of these https://www.nationaltoolhireshops.co.uk/product/transponder-mouse-for-hire/ It screws onto a sewer rod and you stick it down the pipe. It emits a signal that a CAT will be able to detect.
  18. If you use the mulching plug you don't need to empty anything!!!
  19. Not all concrete lorries are 6/8 wheelers some are small for access to difficult jobs. There is no way you could mix concrete quick enough and consistent enough to lay it with out it looking like a patch work quilt.
  20. It's called a spirit level usually a 1200mm length although stabila do a very good 1000m version. You could if you wanted use an 1800mm level to check stuff but it would be a boomerang in no time if it was used by a brickie. If you are paying for a builder who doesn't own rolls of string line then he's not the one for you. And if the said lines resemble a set of rosary beads as he has cut the line that many times then they need replaced.
  21. Use high density Rockwool between the rafters and celotex over it.
  22. Have you tried posting on their Twitter page that you have an issue. They have plenty of recent posts so it's a very active account.
  23. You will need a kerb lifter for them and a spare back!!! Like every job its all in the preparation that makes it easy. Lifting the kerbs is the quick bit. I have seen a lot of houses using garden edges instead of kerbs. Gives a nice cleaner look than a big chunky kerb for the wife to scrape the car wheels on.
