  1. Hi guys, Im getting fed up with waiting for my replacement GMC PCB - I’m dubious if the French company actually had it in stock as it’s been over a month since I ordered it. So I’ve been looking around at alternative HPs. Has as anyone had any experience/knowledge of the Cool Energy ASHPs that are being advertised a lot at the moment? Like this one: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F112940697500 This seems to be their website: https://coolenergyshop.com/collections/all/air-source-heat-pump
  2. Fingers crossed!
  3. So after being away for a week I was hoping my new GMC board had been delivered. Unfortunately no such luck. I have raised it with the seller and they are trying to track it down at the moment. But as a note of warning @joe90; their communication is very poor. It’s taken 3 messages to get a response. You may want to consider this if you haven’t ordered one already.
  4. I did the first option too
  5. Me too!... when I get a command unit anyway.
  6. Ah that’s useful. No it hasn’t arrived yet, although I have been at work today so it may have turned up. However, I’m away for a week from tomorrow, so might struggle to fit it before I leave.
  7. @joe90 I guess you could use the ‘decorative’ wonda room stat (or at least a suitable 0v alternative) for cooling requirements in the future? I’m not sure how you would ensure that you don’t have 2 stats competing (I.e. one calling for cool whilst the other was asking for heat)... but I doubt it would take much to make sure they call for service at different temps.
  8. @joe90 I bought one on eBay from France which was £90 including delivery... no idea if it will be any good mind you! It’s due to arrive tomorrow, so will see if it’s just plug and play then!
  9. Do you recall what sort of money it was?
  10. @joe90 Will do.... Although I’m now concerned that I may have to programme it before it will work based on what was mentioned above. Fingers crossed as I don’t have a command unit yet.
  11. Wow... I missed all this saga! I can’t believe we both have an issue with the GMC board. I’m interested to find out what carrier suggest as a spare, as I just ordered the eBay item from france. Have you you done any investigation of components on the board? I figured I’d just make things worse if I started poking about on my board!
  12. ?? it’s the same size as my house!!!
  13. Ah yes. The selling point of not needing frost protection on the connection pipes should have also made that clear to me!
  14. Isn’t it a brine system. So gas shouldn’t be an issue?
  15. Nice day out and a trip to sunny Cornwall! Phah, cup half-empty kind-a-guy. but seriousl, i guess you could ask the seller for some proper pics of the pipes. You could possibly take a punt if they look ok. Yeah agreed. They say it’s a new house. But pictures might help convince a buyer.
  16. The more I look at it, the better value it seems.

  18. Not on eBay, but gumtree.... seems cheap. https://www.gumtree.com/p/business-services/viessmann-air-source-heat-pump-complete-with-buffer-tank/1307760848?utm_campaign=socialbuttons&utm_content=app_ios&utm_medium=social&utm_source=email
  19. I didn’t bother fitting the flow meter as I didn’t have much space. So I set the pump to the lowest setting and then kept upping it till the ASHP didn’t trigger the alarm. Then did it from highest setting downwards. This gave me the range of what settings on the pump would work. I aimed for the slowest, as (to my logic - no actual facts) this used the least energy and extracted a degree or two more heat.
  20. Oh and if they haven’t sold the command unit yet... ? you could have a buyer here!
  21. So having read all the way through this... I need to know the conclusion... what did they replace it with? Did you sell the KIngspand ASHP?
  22. @Triassic @joe90 I’ve ordered a replacement GMC board. It should be arriving beginning of next week, so i’ll Let you know how it goes.
  23. I’ve also notice in your diagram the link between 13&15... does this crank up the output temp when calling for DHW?
  24. @JSHarris Ah, so the link wire between 3&7 could effectively be replaced with a switch (closed = heat, open = cooling)? Is it that simple?
