It’s quite rare to tack directly on to trusses Most including myself Counter baton with 75x25 That way you can easily pack where there is any undulation -
It’s a bit annoying really It seams like the same old nonsense to folk out a couple of grand on another meaningless survey The laughable thing is that we looked at a plot about a mile up the road Further into zone 2 Right next to the canal and they have just received full planning

I was asked to Vlad a block of four with cedar We fixed the batons directly to the block and stapled a membrane on top of the batons The cedar we removed had been on 12 years There was no membrane underneath and all the batons where fine But if it was mine I would put the membrane in

Thanks for that Planning in principle was originally granted I can’t understand why this wasn’t raised then Also another 50 metres and we would be in zone 1 We are a long way from any watercourses Unless you count a pond across the road in zone 1

We had a flood report done as part of the purchase Moderate risk River 2.8 km away I was quite suprised to get a call from the Architect telling me planners are now requesting a sequential report Before they will grant full planning I spoke to a survey company The lady explained that the report will identify more suitable sites Zone 1 Rather than 2 which we are in Still no wiser Has anyone any experience of this and possibly a rough idea of cost

A 4” angle grinder will do the same job You can always clamp a straight edge on

It has to be coming from above Possibly blowing under the slate or tile Whilst K Rend is breathable There’s to much there for it to be soaking through the cavity Roof is the main suspect

You should look at it as round one to the Counsul It’s up to you to come up with a modified design However if you are set on this particular design It would be worth speaking to a planning consultant
-
If you can delay for six months That would save you money If only on material prices
-
If you mix SBR 4-1 and add a few handfuls of dry cement Mix it in and pour it on the floor Use a soft sweeping brush to spread it out

Costing is a real nightmare at the moment Pre Covid we built within 10k of our predicted budget We haven’t even looked at the budget this time -
Yep settlement cracks on solid built homes are very quick and easy to repair TF can be a real nightmare

We used dense concrete block Sap guys push towards lightweight But I made up the u value with a wider cavity and more insulation Heating still hasn’t come on since May I do quite a bit of work for a company with 100milion + plus turnover and they have completely given up on lightweight blocks Lots of Brickies would disagree ?
