  2. Locally to us there is miles and miles of new gas mains being installed Gas will clearly be around long after all of us have gone Hydrogen seems to be a bit of a myth With Hydrogen boilers running off a mix of 20% Hydrogen and 80% gas

  14. You simply mix the grout very runny and pour it on the tiles spread it out Then throw wood shavings down and brush them around the floor to soak up the excess grout 30 years ago All grouting was done this way A much better job as the grout picks up any hollows under the tiles

  17. Good point I’ve replaced quite a few for tiles Whilst I’m sometimes ask to lay it I don’t see where the daft prices come from
  18. If you look on the Webber Rend site or K Rend site It comes with its own backing and receiver coats Much lighter than San and Cement Ive learnt from experience that EWI and sand cement arnt comparable
  19. If you install EWI You will need a lightweight pebble or wet dash as apposed to traditional sand and Cement

Your plot purchase will be key Buying without full planning will make any potential plot cheaper The problem is that the fees and surveys will be the same on a small or large house You need to be around the 100k mark for a garden plot Buying in a built up area will cut your Conections charges dramatically Gas Electric water and also cut the amount of surveys needed Good luck with your search
  21. Good post thank you I’ll have a look at those We are looking at a cottage type brick I argued with planners that we couldn’t be specific Due to long lead times on some bricks
  22. They will give you planning in principle without any surveys I’ve had to do all the surveys for a full application
  23. We’ve just purchased two plots He paid 500 for the planning consultant and a small amount for the planning application fee But did no surveys or Architecht fees
  24. If your going to sell You can go for planning in principle It will cost you about £500 Let someone else do all the surveys
