Why can't everything just be moved under the sink? Don't think I've ever seen any plumbing, water or waste behind the actual machines. Yes you lose the cupboard space, but so be it. My machines have a recessed section at the bottom so pipes can travel past it without interfering with the space. For what it's worth I did that in 2 places on the opposite sides of the room in my gaff, no regrets.

Onto the next one! Turns out the 20m of 16mm pipe I had left didn't give me enough to get under the shower tray but hey ho. Used the huge notches the previous owner made in my joists to pass though rather than add in my own. 25mm acoustic insulation, 75mm PIR then 50mm rockwool under the spreader plates. Dabbing the insulated tile backer boards onto the external wall next 💪🏻

Am I just throwing down a load of PVA onto the P5? Just brush the chipboard down, PVA the lot and go to town with the ply and screws? Seems an easy enough job for today.

Aye I've got my screws all ready. Just seems a mental amount to put in but I've already drawn the grid now, looks like a Sunday afternoon job. Ran a few tests, think I'm ok with the depth and 25mm screws, takes a lot to get it to go through the other end of the chipboard to be fair.

Should I be using SBR on this bare cavity wall before I dab on my Wedi boards? The wall is in decent nick as I've repointed a lot of it.

22mm. Impact is DeWalt and just one speed, it often gets a bit speedy. Wonder if I can use one of those drywall type depth restrictor bits. Probably being overly cautious but the thought of all the work required to sort out a hit pipe under this lot, doesn't bear thinking about quite frankly.

That's my plan. 25mm seems scarily close to the pipes though. I've got 20mm and 25mm screws, just to see what I dare put in. Seems 25mm is only an impact driver away from spoiling the whole party with the pipes underneath.

I've bought this from Wickes before I even clicked on I should have got marine ply. Wickes 6mm ply Will this stuff be ok? I'll be tiling, so priming and flexible adhesive on top of this.

Yeah my shower is pretty much opposite the door as it is. Just wondering if the gypsum based vent as discussed in this thread is more prone to getting damaged from moisture being in such direct contact with steam.

Really, I was under the impression that directly above the source of steam was best.

Jumping onto this, any problems with fitting one of these Ergovents above my shower enclosure? I like the minimal look compared to the warty ones which are the usual.

like the Gateshead flyover in Newcastle, they are demolishing the entire thing. And closer to home, the National Glass Centre in Sunderland is about to get demolished, 25 years after it was built, pretty pathetic.

my manifold has something similar to these and i found/find them useful if not vital for the setup.
