  1. Say it is a 5 W LED. If you just turned it on and left it, would cost about £10/year. I just remember where the switch is, seems easy to turn a light on, or off, at the wall.
  2. I misread it as optimism. On a good day it gives me a warm feeling.
  3. The decor looks more 1970's. Suppose this is right for a self build, start, then a decade later, it is time to decorate.
  4. Morning wood.
  5. Which ever way it is said, it is still quite a distance. Anyway it can be all closer together? How does it get the extra 2.7 kW? Is it via a built in resistance heater? If so, then the unit is too small.
  6. Why do you put fan on, us it to reduce the internal relative humidity?
  7. I think in all fairness they know it isn't the complete solution. Probably the quickest and cheapest way to get to the next round of internationally agreed targets.
  8. That will be a Number 2 then.
  9. Why not use a host name to SSH into. You can, if you want, give it a number.
  10. Why I have stuck to quarterly billing. Only 4 times a year it can go wrong.
  11. Is that the astrophysics Dr. Murphy who has morphed into social commentary and economics? He is not all bad.
  12. Bulb receivers are having trouble moving customers to other suppliers. It is strange how people will overspend on functional items like cookers and taps, but underspend on energy.
  13. They often haul a big dick around. Mine is 9 inches now.
  14. Low energy housing only becomes an issue when energy prices rise dramatically. If I had said in 1974 "I have seen the future of motoring, it weighs over 2 ton and does twelve to the gallon" everyone would have laughed. There are about 400,000 RangeRovers on the UK roads.
  15. If you compress it, the thermal resistance will reduce. Cant see a problem with cutting back, except it may change moisture absorption. I have always like the idea of spraying in a foam, but having worked in the industry, I would make sure that sprayers also fully cleaned up.
  16. Yes, it is often forgotten.
  17. Even if done correctly this can be an issue. PUs can shrink for over a year, it is why your furniture cushions seem overly tight in the covers when new, we built long term shrinkage in.
  18. You can still use and abuse my MAC, just wipe it clean after.
  19. Here is the address on another one, but an old one. b8:27:eb:2c:9d:dd
  20. Here is my MAC 00:e0:2d:1a:23:0a
  21. what sort of Pi is it, then if I have one similar on my network, can see if it is the same as mine.
  22. You can set the IP address up on each Pi in software, or use a hostname.
  23. Good move.
  24. Looks like you were told wrong, don't change it, not going to do you any harm.
