Chat GPT for building regulations - insane!
SteamyTea replied to GaryChaplin's topic in Building Regulations
Encyclopaedias posses knowledge. Possess and Knowledge need to be defined in the right context. Like arseholes, everyone has an opinion on knowledge, some are right. I think they can already. All Barristers do, and many other professionals. -
Thinking is overrated. If I said/typed what I was thinking, I would be in prison, frequently.
-
Making sure it cannot get too hot. Keeping the temperature safely below the combustion temperature of all the nearby materials.
-
How are you going to deal with thermal safety. Really needs special testing and hard to make intrinsically safe.

How is the windfall task affecting green investment?
SteamyTea replied to jayc89's topic in Environmental Building Politics
Not from where I was sitting. Normal in the summer when the Emmets are down and forget that the rules of the road are the same this side of the Tamar as they are in the rest of the country, not what we want during our 5 months off from them. -

Yes. These twats yesterday did it for me, all I wanted was a coffee from a national chain. https://www.cornwalllive.com/news/cornwall-news/scene-a30-crash-cornwall-driver-8033042 -

And if the new legislation goes though, you will be a criminal, for just thinking about it, maybe. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2021/mar/14/new-anti-protest-bill-raises-profound-concern-human-rights-groups-say -
How is the windfall task affecting green investment?
SteamyTea replied to jayc89's topic in Environmental Building Politics
I don't know that much about it, but I think there is a reduction if they invest in low carbon technologies (probably were going to do that anyway) and I think they may be taxing low carbon generation at the same windfall rate (35%). So snookered both ways. Just convinces me more that for every rule we have that makes something compulsory, we have another rule that makes it illegal. -
So do I.

Exactly. Power (W, watt) is energy (J, joule) divided by time (s, second) Energy is power (W, watt) multiplied by time (s, second) There are 3,600 seconds in an hour
-
kWh, never kw/h J.s-1s-1 is a nonsense unit, and that is what you get when you divide power by time.

Generator to supply power to static caravan?
SteamyTea replied to Ejfraz's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
Please report back on how it goes. I would quite like to run one ring on my induction hob and the grill on my oven at 15pkWh (plus conversation inefficiencies) rather than the over 56p/kWh (or whatever it is now) on the day rate. Be a bit of fun to do as well. Should be possible with my energy profile. 11, 12 and 12 are the lunch time hours.- 9 replies

Heatmiser Neostat v2 temperature sensor problem
SteamyTea replied to Ultima357's topic in Underfloor Heating
My apprenticeship was at a company that made destructive testing machines. One way to test a circuit would be to power it up and pop it in an oven at 100°C, then time how long it lasts, then pop another one in at 150°C and time that, finally at 180°C and time. Plot results and you can hind cast to normal temperatures.- 150 replies

All companies need someone good at woodwork. Was there not some research done where they asked stock brokers and black taxi drivers about there views on the economy, the taxi drivers were better, but then so where monkeys choosing numbered bananas. -

Yes, and they will, but may well claim it was stolen. My car insurance is up for renewal, loads of emails, texts and unsolicited calls, they will all stop next month. How many of us (actually mean you lot) use encrypted email, especially at work? -

SteamyTea replied to Ejfraz's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
If you are going to self install (rather than an MCS installation) PV and batteries on your house, then you could buy some of the kit early and use it to wire the the van up. Or just a couple of Honda generators and a leisure battery/small inverter for lighting/fridge/radio. How are you going to do space heating and DHW?- 9 replies

They wanted my phone number to sign up, so it can (expletive deleted) off. I was going to ask it to write a story about @pocster and his dungeon. Looks like I will have to do it myself, oneday. -

Seemed fine to me, did I miss something. -
I don't have a fireplace, or a TV. I did sneak a glance at the Radio Times at the supermarket, had the same cover it did in the 1960's, except in colour. There was an old story by Rob Newman about putting on his headphones, borrowing a magazine from @pocster, and pleasuring himself in his bed room. He opened his eyes and his Mother had placed a cup of tea beside him.

A UV radiation source won't.

But quiet filth, no one really likes a screamer. I think Art Garfunkel sang a Paul Simon song about it. Duncan
