nod Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 My wife and myself had a day out to visit the Harrogate build show Traffic was horrendous so we decided to park about a mile out and walk in We park right next to a new build site of quite large semis Immediately Deb said let’s look round on the way back ‘Kitchen bathroom ideas’ After a full day looking around the show we popped into the show house for a look round Five bed semi detached Not massive as the the fourth and fifth-office were on the top floor Nowhere for wardrobes which seem to be a theme with these three story mainstream new builds The fittings were cheap and the kitchen was ok but pretty standard The price wasn’t £775000 The mainstream builders just seem to be asking what they want for houses at the moment There is a group of eight being built about a mile down the road from were I live Not in the best spot 700 to 800 k Way above local prices unlikely to be as well built as what I’ve seen on here
Russell griffiths Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 See you bloody northerners have got all the money.
nod Posted November 5, 2017 Author Posted November 5, 2017 Ha ha im just at a loss as to how they sell all these properties
curlewhouse Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Given the quality of the builds compared to what we on this forum all show can be done for less money, the hardest part must be for the developers not to keep sniggering as people queue up to hand their money over.
SteamyTea Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Always worth looking at the whole picture, rather than just an obscure quirk in the market. http://landregistry.data.gov.uk/app/ppd/
Ferdinand Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 But Harrogate is a part of the South that happens to be in Yorkshire...
SteamyTea Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Name a comparable town to Harrogate in the South and we can compare the two.
SteamyTea Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Just done a quick and dirty analysis of house sales in Harrogate, Oxford and Poole, they are next to each other in population ranking (i.e. size of borough). Make your own minds up if Harrogate is a 'southern' town.
ToughButterCup Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 @nod, call yerself a Northerner? Living south of J33 . Phhhhhhhh. Southern Softie(s) I say
ProDave Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Steady on. MOST of you on this forum are "southerners" 1
Onoff Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Please! Soft Southern Shandy Suppers! Drinking a lager the other day and I felt the urge for a lemonade top...

SteamyTea Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 (edited) I am currently on a parallel that is equal to Bordeaux, and they pretend to speak French here. I think I am the only one that has been to France. Where I usually live, you are all Northerners! Edited November 5, 2017 by SteamyTea
