eve'in all,

Just spotted our underfloor heating thermostat and asked our plumber for an alternative, seemed very bulky and dated, very ugly to be honest, he left an alternative which was worse, alomost yellow/white colour. He said the list is endless and take a look on internet, does anyone have any modern ones fitted e.g. Slim, low profile, white etc?

The wife is in a fluster over these she said they look like a schoool technology room from the 80's ?

Cheers

Mine are all heatmiser and the list is endless. From the basic version with buttons to the all singing dancing one you can control with an app.

I have a hostess trolley also, great storage!

This a pic of the one he got us, my wife hates it and to be honest she's right ?

Will google both these brands

We have Heatmiser Neostat in shiny white. Look very nice, but a pain to operate and the off-white "buttons" against the shiny white background are difficult to see (at least to my middle-aged eyes!). Around £50 + VAT, though make sure you get the right model if you want UFH probe with it.

Do you want a simple thermostat or a programmable stat?

Heatmiser do a wide range as others have mentioned both 12V and some 230V. You will need to know what your system uses.

They even have some with remote sensors for use in bathrooms. Stat goes on the wall outside the bathroom with a remote sensor inside.

Beware before buying any programable room stat. Read the instructions. We didn't and got lumbered with two that were battery powered, and forgot their programing every time the battery went flat.

They run on battery. Thanks for the tip,

Just get ones with NVM ( non volatile memory ) which have tiny batteries on the circuit board which last long enough to let you change the main batteries.

Or not, if you've already bought some that don't

There are mine, I am happy with the design and shape of them. The one that he initially proposed to you is hideous Nireland, no wonder the hips doesn't like it.
