On one level it's just plain annoying. I don't want to be greeted with a bright red tank every time I open the airing cupboard.

But one another level, just why is it that there is only one product of this type? Part of the five-year plan I guess @Adsibob.

Well, it was Henry Ford who said you could have any colour you liked as long as it was black.

It's not specified in BS5615 or something silly like that, is it? Couldn't find a free copy offhand.

IME they're not hugely effective either.

Build your own tank enclosure and fill it with insulation of your choice. Paint it any colour but red

Really tight for space as much of the CH control gear is located to the side. So much so, I would probably also need something I can take off now and then to access it. In my parents house my dad cut off the airing cupboard door half way up, screwed the bottom half shut and dumped EPS beads in covering the whole cylinder.

Got noting better to do. (take that as a personal statement or a question 😁)

Why did I waste my time looking at this post. Who cares, if you don't like, don't buy, make your own it may fit and perform as well or better.

If don't like red....

Maybe they all come from a single manufacturer and are just rebadged.

It’s possible they are all red to indicate that there is something hot inside: like the colour indicators on hot and cold taps.

Surely a big aspect of this forum is time wasting/procrastination/fun. I found this thread an enjoyable use of my time, even though nothing materially useful will come out of reading it.

If this knitted UVC jacket came with this model, I would definitely get one.

And probably British as she seems to be pear shaped.

Just imagine if you waned a career in modelling, walking the catwalk with Naomi and Kate.

Then you get a job for British Wool.

It was available in other colours after the production process had been refined.

RED = Hot (Or danger) or so I was led to believe!

Is that why my tip is red?

(doubt this post will be here in the morning)
