Mandana
Has anyone seen anything like this on their search for lighting with an impact? There don’t seem to be any lighting companies near us, and those we’ve seen don’t have a big selection. We have a big space to fill inside our front door and thought something like this would be stunning. Probably too spendy stunning, but we won’t know until we see something and get an idea of cost! Picture of said chandelier and the space it’ll go in below. Thanks in advance
PeterW
Search AliExpress - you will soon find out where a lot of the “designer” lights come from example here https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32828926975.html

recoveringbuilder
We ended up with two of these , my search criteria was that it had to have a 3 metre drop so it narrowed it down a good bit but they are well admired- by people passing by, had a guy come to do the tv aerial and he was excited to see them in the house as he’d seen them from outside when he was passing one night! Looks great! Where did you get them from? May I ask what kind of cost they are to give us an idea.
recoveringbuilder
Just had a quick look at receipt, they came from a company online called discount home lighting, I had already seen them in edmundson electrical but managed to get them a good bit cheaper online, they were £1200 for the two.

We got our modest pendant lights from The Lighting Superstore which seemed quite reasonable on prices. 1

Pm1987
Ill ask the wife. Was only installed last week so cords should hopefully straighten up over time. Its a pain in the rear as any time you need to adjust the length of each drop you need to remove the full top plate with everything attached. As you can imagine the wide still wants some of them adjusted but after several changes already "Ill change them later".

I was eyeing up various options like this before we took a very different direction in hallway lighting design https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32904917138.html (Note that like a lot of these large fittings this has down lights in ceilings illuminating the baubles from above rather than each one having it's own powered bulb. Figure out which style you want and browse accordingly!) I've ordered loads of stuff from AliExpress now including all my DMX lighting control gear. Only had a couple things fail to turn up but the dispute and refund process solved both of them. As always online, be sure to use a reputable credit card for payment Edited November 12, 2020 by joth
canalsiderenovation
I'm about to order one light from Ali Express. I wanted a Tom Dixon designer one and the price was eye watering.... I'm hoping it will be ok. I actually emailed the store and got them to alter the design slightly and they have been great so far at adjusting things to our requirements. Ferdinand
Your house is too traditional for one of those. You want one of these. £75 if you come and collect. Solid oak. 1.8m high. ES bulbs. Comes with luminaire glass covers. The support is in 2 sections, so can be 1m high.
