  1. I thought nearly all UVC came with a pressure reducing valve pre set at 3 bar. 4 bar seems unnecessarily high. I found setting the PRV below 2.5 bar resulted in poor shower pressure. I just played around with it for a while to see what was a good compromise between shower pressure and noise. Just follow the instructions for your PRV. Mine needed Allen key in the top of it to adjust.
  2. The point of £20 billion on carbon capture is probably what pocket does that taxpayers money end up lining. Much the same as how the Covid situation was taken advantage of by the elite class to appropriate our money and to hell with the consequences to public services/health/inflation and the economy in general etc etc
  3. Think you’re being a bit pedantic. If the Guardian is to be believed - a bit of a stretch I know - then there doesn’t seem to be any question of whether the experiments will be going ahead. Many are convinced they have been happening for years already, I’m not sure about that particular ‘conspiracy theory’ to be honest, although I was also wrong about certain other ‘experiments’ that went badly wrong in Wuhan.
  4. Along with abolishing cash, handing over powers to the corrupt WHO etc etc. What government in any civilisation in history has ever been found to be absolutely trustworthy and working in the best interests of the people it serves (or probably more accurately, lords it over). Why should we trust ours and how long before we all say enough is enough with the slow erosion of our liberties?

  6. I’d say it sounds quite similar. I just dropped the PRV pressure slightly so that there wouldn’t be such a big difference between static and dynamic pressure which I think is probably the root of the problem. The pressure in EV/UVC rapidly changes and causes the noise
  7. Totally agree. A load of utter nonsense. I’m not sure if I’ve been had on this one, but it seems to be fairly well reported that the morons in charge are spending £50M of our money doing experiments trying to ‘dim the sun’. If true then wtf is going on. Got to be some sort of corruption going on there.
  8. Almost certainly it was from what I've been reading. Another reason why you can't phase out fossil fuels. Even B.Liar is now agreeing with that, he can obviously sense more quickly than the fools Starmer and Miliband that the public are starting to get pretty fed up with their hard earned being wasted in pursuit of a pipe dream.
  9. I lowered the pre charge in EV to about 1.5bar and then also lowered the pressure at the PRV to about 2.5 bar. It's now acceptable.
  10. Ah yes, no self respecting religion will be taken seriously without a good dose of self flagellation!
  11. Won't be holding my breath for anyones price to come down. More likely some pay the same and some pay more.
  12. No structural design needed for Octopus. Just need ‘Part P’ BC notification and electrical certificate, which any electrician registered with NICEIC/NAPIT etc can provide. Also DNO approval which anyone can get. Plus the £250. I did it back in September and have been paid nearly £100 already from a 4.5kWp system. Shouldn’t be far off the £250 by the end of the year, perhaps earlier, depending how the summer goes I would think.
  13. Letter before action and then small claims if that fails. If you have everything in writing and she’s not disputing quality of work then you will win. As above then hopefully the letter will open communications. Some people think it will just go away. Only happened the once with me. Letter before action sorted it.
  14. He certainly will be rouge when it’s pointed out to him, if he’s got any pride that is.
  15. Someone better get on the blower to the Chinese. I read that they poured more concrete in 2 years than the US has in its entire history. They burn 30% more coal than the rest of the world combined. And rising. They’re also taking significant control of worldwide raw material supply. Meanwhile we do our best to impoverish ourselves whilst fiddling round the edges, whilst the BBC preach to us that we’re the ones doing all the damage (now and in the past), whilst doing nothing to rein in their extravagances. If you can find a cheaper or better way of doing something, then it will see widespread takeup. At the moment there is little serious alternative to concrete on a global level
  16. Personally I’d have the supplementary electrode connected, and I do in my own house, due to island mode. FYI for an SWA sub main/distribution circuit on TT, then the best way is a switchfuse with BS88-3 fuse and a 100mA S type RCD. Then use switched neutral RCBO’s downstream to maintain selectivity. It’s really not much worse than TN system and having a switchfuse with a main switch isolator rather than the RCD as above. It’s much better than a sub main from an MCB which I see all the time!
  17. Yes, it’s recommended in 411.4.2 that a supplementary electrode is installed. It’s been strongly considered a number of times that this be made mandatory. If you have an inverter which allows island mode, then it is definitely necessary to install one. Table 54.1 shows min earth conductor sizes. It’s 16mm2 for no mechanical protection, but cable has sheath for protection against corrosion. I’d be leaving it connected to the MET assuming it’s installed to a good standard, with a stable Ra.
  18. Octopus either want £250, Electrical Installation Certificate and Electrical Building Control Sign off (Part P notification) OR they want MCS
  19. Didn’t you have any battens supporting the bottom of the GSE trays?
  20. Apologies, of course the panels don’t sit directly on the battens! GSE trays. I should know, I fitted them. They don’t add much height though.
  21. Not double battened. The panels sit directly on the battens, as do the tiles, so not sure why the panels would be higher?
  22. That’s not the case with mine. The panels sit a fraction lower than the tiles (which unfortunately are concrete Marley Moderns). I don’t take issue with you saying it’s a problem on some though.
  23. Could you explain ‘elevated surface’. Do you mean panels on rails rather than GSE in roof system?
