  1. This company also: Quoted within 24 hours of a request on their website. Did 5 different revisions following input from @PeterW and @Nickfromwales within about 7 days Arranged to do job within 7 days of me giving them the order Turned up on time - well 10 past 9 instead of 9 o'clock from Sutton Coldfield approx an hour away Were polite and friendly - even when I was pestering them (on instruction from Nick) Were very grateful for cups of tea - never get offered them down south where most of their work is they said Cleaned up all their rubbish and were away by 1.30pm
  2. It feels like it too - beginning to hope September is doable for moving in.
  3. Wiring in place for plinth 4mm foil insulation and pipe grippers placed UFH floor piping laid plenty of height available to threshold screed being poured All covered and levelled curing agent spayed on Highly recommended - 24 hours to be walked on and 16 (minimum) to floor laying. But that is planned for early September
  4. Thanks @newhome each little step is one less I still have to take. Just need to pin the plumber down to a date now!! And then the plasterer! All done and dusted - they've just left. Taken plenty of photos though
  5. They've put some of the blue edging foam round and taped it. The pipes are extended above the floor level above so there is plenty of flexibility. They say they haven't sleeved pipes for years
  6. Sorry - they don't have any sleeving on the van
  7. It's 65mm ish to the brick level at the door, there is then 100mm at least of frame before the actual door - They have put a collar round the stack so no problem there I don't think I don't know exactly what it is but it is a self levelling, quick drying so probably calcium sulphate I guess. I am going to keep it all indoors and raise the floor level slightly.
  8. No issues there - it is the lower ground floor and not the main entrance so no need for level access, although I would like it as level as possible which is why I'm fine with the extra down there as there is approx 100mm of door frame. It's already ordered and on its way liquid screed There is somewhere it can be used to level up outside which is where I was thinking if they needed to dump any after the pour 100 mm at least No drawing and the room is tanked to about 1100 as the house is on a steep slope and the lower ground, where this is going is set into the slope.
  9. I am having the floor screeded today with the UFH pipes. I have been quoted for 2.3 cubic meters but the guys say that 2 would give the quoted level. They have suggested putting it all down which will bring the floor level up about 10 to 15 ml. Is there any reason why this is not a good idea?

    Resin drive

They are both permeable. Resin bound is mixed with the stone and then poured and is more expensive and longer lasting Resin bond, the resin is poured first and the stones are scattered on top.
  11. I could give my builder a few raspberries but not the edible kind
  12. You wouldn't recognise anything for a while if you one hit you over the head ?
  13. How about the person pays the stamp duty but defers an equivalent part of the purchase price. Financially the same but possibly less issue about legally arranging the loan. May be totally irrelevant but was my first thought
  14. Isn't that just saying that if you were in arrears with Iresa then you can't move to someone else until your debt is cleared?
  15. Do we need to change your name to Noah?
  16. Ow - I would be living in the shower - Today is the first day I've been uncomfortable - it's 27 degrees, I have a fan on - I know it doesn't make it any cooler but it feels cooler in the moving air. Plus I have a flannel in a bowl of water and I keep wiping my face neck and arms; letting the fan dry them. We've just had 'our thunderstorm' Lots of rumbling and about 10 seconds of big splatty rain. My lounge faces south and my new one does too but I don't find it get's too hot in here generally - unless it's humid as now. My bedroom is on the north so generally not to bad but tonight may be the exception. I've been sleeping with just a sheet and the fan on since the 'summer' started
  17. The sound aspect is not an issue as I live alone - the expense should have been doable. Space is and isn't an issue. There is plenty of space for me, but the whole interior space is under 90 sqm so rooms are quite small - doors not encroaching would be a benefit. The bathroom is still going to be a slider, it's a small room and is the one that requires part M access - it is going to have to be barn door style - thing is I wanted shelves on that wall - will have to work something out so the shelves stand proud as the utility room it is off is small anyway and has to compensate for my current garage and loft.

  19. I wanted pocket doors, unfortunately they have gone the way of most of my wants
  20. Suspect this will be the same - or he will have a script. I only saw him briefly last time he came as BB was still in control then. He was being picky about something to do with the tanking as far as a remember - even though it was done to SE calcs
  21. I still haven't had an email from them at all BUT I got a text from their inspector yesterday saying that he is coming today - I'll see if I can find anything out from him.
  22. almost definitely longer - if you're lucky it will be only a 'bit'
