My plumbers are concerned about this fitting on my Wunda system. These two bits fit very loosely together. There is only a partial small lip that keeps them from coming apart. They haven't done ufh before and are willing to concede it may be as it should be but it doesn't seem right to them. They are going to get it checked at their own heating place but they have already said that their place doesn't rate Wunda or Grundfos. Has anyone any information or ideas please?

Limiting floor temperature with smart heating controls
Hecateh replied to PeteTheSwede's topic in Underfloor Heating
Not done that BUT go on ebay and search underfloor heating co and see if what you are wanting is available from Ebay. I have just bought an electric mat and kit from them. £150 on their site. Exactly the same thing from them on Ebay £89. I couldn't believe how different it was -
Cheap??? I'd expect it to do the shopping and prepare the food for that lol

Fancy inners are expensive (everywhere) the pullout unit on the tall cupboard was £200 extra, the pullout bin unit about £100 extra etc. I wanted a le mans pullout for the corner but that would have added another £200

It is upstairs - not too worried about the noise, there's only me so I can always do the washing when I'm out if it's noisy, certainly do it during the day as I'm retired. As my house is split level it's either 6 stairs up to the bedroom or 8 stairs down to the lounge LOL

I'm putting my washer and dryer in my bathroom/dressing room.

I've used Ebay but never Gumtree, looking now.

ordered one - takes the pressure off - ???? I love pizza, eat healthily 6 days a week but Saturday is pizza day
-
Google says 'YES!' perhaps that's the way to go in the short term. Then can maybe get the Neff later
-
I know - so much pressure - and great plumbers, electrician, plasterers and all round craftsman have convinced me (finally) that this is actually going to happen LOL Yeah, I guess I could persuade them to sell me one anytime within the next 6 months I did have my heart set on a Neff slide and hide (future proofing) but can't justify it at full price

Can you cook a pizza in the halogen?
-
I want to go and have a look round somewhere where I can find one I like the look of first. Things have been so hectic this past few weeks I've only just realised it's time to decide lol
-
So long as the 600mm one's will fit though I'll go back to my original intention and see if I can pick one up on ebay. It doesn't take an expensive oven to cook a pizza once a week and the occasional roast or ready meal
-
Just gone to look at the ovens they do and they price match - bugger! Thing is, before my sister decided to lend me the money to pay off the mortgage I was going to manage without an oven until this house sold as the money just wasn't there. When the situation changed my mind didn't compute that I should at least look at what they were offering.
-
It didn't even occur to me to look at appliances from DIY kitchens.

My oven housing is 600 wide, external measurement with an internal width of 570mm but it seems that most single ovens say they are 600mm wide. I want to assume that means they fit into a 600 wide unit as the housing doesn't come in a wider size but can someone please confirm that or otherwise for me please. I can't afford another expensive mistake

definitely a poor reason, I totally agree. BUT - I started with a main contractor (or that was how he styled himself - and he believed he could do this BUT (it was beyond his experience). SO after water tight, I (with zilch knowledge or experience) took over project management. The joiners that did the stud walls blamed the builders for being out of square. BUT built stud walls in the wrong place (corrected at mostly my expense) but apart from that, built walls that were not true (obvious bows once plasterboard was in place) and didn't allow for dot and dab when building above blockwork. The first plumber I engaged had little experience beyond 'pretty work' but thought she deserved high skill wages and charged ultra high prices for sub standard work. The plasterer, who was great in general, clogged up some of the first fix electrics - not insurmountably, but the spark says he oftens finds first fix totally plastered over. etc, etc. In summary ----- trades blame the one before and leave crap for the one after. Not 100% true, - age/life experience - seems to me to be a factor, as more experience often leads to more consideration. I have now got (I believe) good plumbers, electrician, general (high skilled) handyman who are aware of the effect their work has on others. BUT You either pay more and get a project manager who (hopefully) cares and co-ordinates it all or do it yourself and find (after the event) that some only care about their own trade and not the ones coming after.

DIY Kitchens wall unit went up today. 1000mm wide with bifold up door (bifold 'cos I'm fed up of standing up whilst unpacking the dishwasher and cracking my head on an open door) Once installed the final packing was removed to reveal the top hinges had popped. The back panel had not been fixed to the bottom of the unit so, although the packaging wasn't damaged, a jolt on one corner had knocked it out of square and popped the hinges. I contacted them today (with pics) - within a couple of hours they came back asking if I wanted replacement or refund. Luckily for them I am only 20 mins away so the redelivery won't really cost them LOL (And if they don't want the other one back I have a great place for it )

CRL underwriter declared bankrupt
Hecateh replied to divorcingjack's topic in New House & Structural Warranties
I wish they'd give me a refund. I only got it because the loan I was getting to build my property demanded it, the loan is now paid off -
It won't be their issue, it will be someone else's.

I read the book - funnily enough on the recommendation of my skinny sister. After reading it I told her there was very little in it that I hadn't already read and mentioned to her previously. 'Yes, maybe,' she said, 'but doesn't it help to know that your beliefs have been validated?'. 'I already knew what I told you was validated but it didn't make you believe me (although to be fair she had some empathy) me having read this won't make anyone else believe it who doesn't already have some idea.' ('I expect you're right' she said)

WTF - lovely kitchen BUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT! Some people definitely have more money than sense - that's referring to the original purchaser more than the second hand one LOL

@Jude1234 Thanks Looking even better now as the long worktop is on. Tomorrow it's the island and the last tall unit

Totally agree, I grew up as one of 7 so no ultra hygiene for us. One brother and one sister were over 12lb born, one breast fed the other, my kid sister, wouldn't breastfeed and (1959) midwife suggested farex (wheat flour based baby food) in the bottle from day one to 'slow her down'. Both grew up skinny and could eat anything and everything they wanted without gaining weight. Still relatively slim now in retirement. I was 10lb, was fully breastfed for 6 months and have struggled with my weight all my life. 2 differences 1) shape wise they both took after dad's family's shape and I took after Mum's and 2) I had antibiotics for tonsillitis at least twice a year from 5 to 11 or 12. Antibiotics are now known to decimate the good gut health bacteria.
