  1. Thank you. I saw them at the ECO Build show last year and liked it. I'm planning to speak to them tomorrow and arrange a visit/demo. I will post the outcome.
  2. Hi, I need some help/guidance for lighting in a new self build. Need a whole house solution that is controllable and ideally not propioritory.
  3. I thought that you needed a higher temp than shower waste water would give you (~65C) to be able to "charge" the Sunamp?
  4. Thanks, but I don't want to restrict the flow I want to give the water more volume. So 7.5l/min feels like 15l/min
  5. On my quest to save both water and energy for showers, I'm now looking at aerated shower head/systems. Any one have one?
  6. Thanks. I haven't had a chance to play with a SunAmp yet
  7. Planning to use a Sunamp for showers & bath so connect the WWRU to the SunAmp cold water inlet?
  8. OK. If you use a waste water heat recovery unit, where are you going to put this energy?
  9. Please note that their solution is for off-grid. I like the concept, but not the design solution. There is no need for UV, just a filter.
  10. Currently working with James & Emma on their self build house in Wareham and looking for a shower system. Think that a Recirculating Shower System would be energy and water efficient and Shower Loop System looks promising and open source too.
  11. Most dishwasher won't take a full load of kitchen dirty stuff.
  12. Have a look at the Post Office who use to install a new phone line FOC. Also this link - https://www.choose.co.uk/guide/new-phone-line-installation-for-free.html
  13. The counter top is the most important. Corian is nice, and easy to work with and has a good feel - but its not that hard and easily damaged
  14. "Building smaller places does not reduce price, that is set my how much people can borrow." I have to strongly disagree with this statement. House prices are a function of supply & demand, location, space (not just floor area) and F&F.
  15. Perhaps I should have explained that by ‘minimalist’ I mean minimalism - "Minimalism is all about living with less which includes less financial burdens such as debt and unnecessary expenses. For many minimalists, the philosophy is about getting rid of excess stuff and living life based on experiences rather than worldly possessions.
  16. Yes, Party walls and floors thickness will need to be considerable beefed up
  17. Yes it will need 4 parking spaces. This will be on an existing site which has a hammer head turning space.
  18. 40sqm is more than enough for a minimalist apartment
  19. Yes, small or tiny ~ 40sqm for each apartment
  20. It's just an animated gif - put the image on a separate lay in photoshop and bingo
  21. I have been asked if my Eco designed passive house could be converted into 4 self contained Minimalist Apartments. I'm happy to share my thoughts and designs with you all in exchange for comments and ideas.
  22. Hikvision or Ubiquiti is a good start
  23. "Right now, when the electricity grid runs short of capacity during peak periods, extra power can be generated but usually not in the cleanest or greenest way. Conversely, when there’s excess renewable generation, demand cannot be increased which leads to wasted energy. That’s why EDF Energy is building a network of small-scale batteries to help balance this mismatch. In return for helping balance the grid for 10 years, we’re offering a substantial upfront discount off the retail price of the battery." www.edfenergy.com/for-home/battery-storage Full spec of battery here
  24. If you keep on "pushing" the same way you will always get the same result, nothing to do with luck, which IMHO is perception.
  25. Get a quote for supply first, then discuss about the changes.
