  1. I’ve seen better strippers in my time.
  2. Obvs
  3. Wanted to have a look at this, this weekend but didn't get roundtuit. Just need a single filter for taking out the chlorine taste. Its only the kitchen feed which is the tap and the dishwasher. fortunately the washing machine is in the utility. Filter should last a bit longer that way.
  4. My fault for trying the caulk the grand canyon many times. I got a couple of tubes of no nonsense anti-crack caulk as I was at Screwies not Toolies. I await to be disappointed in a years time.
  5. And can I use the matching 3 year old grout leftover from the floor tiles
  6. Should be finishing this soon. puts feet up, cracks open a beer.
  7. All the ‘trade’ (£1 ish) caulk I’ve used has shrunk and cracked. Are some of the £2-3 tubes significantly better in this respect?
  8. Past experience means I'm not willing to try fitting a 3/4" BSP to a 3/4" NPT again No I haven't yet, I had looked at some only options from water filter 'specialists' but will give that eBay listing a once over. I hope you can appreciate that to the untrained eye there is very difference between those products and buying blind off eBay by a laymen often ends in less than success as well.
  9. This water filter https://www.screwfix.com/p/bwt-high-capacity-water-filter-kit/16747 is described as having 3/4" NPT fittings, not BSP. Last time I tried this sort of thing, BSP fittings really did not work. 3/4" NPT fittings do not seem readily available let alone a coupler to 15mm pipe compression fitting. What am I missing here?
  10. What product was this?
  11. @lizzie it’s main home will be a draughty corner pier between 2 large windows in our extension. Air tightness and mvhr is not a thing for us to worry about anyway.
  12. The wife has been looking at these to give her a 'feature'. something like this: https://www.imaginfires.co.uk/stow-white-bioethanol-fireplace She wants something that actually provides some heat but I'm more concerned about how close to walls and furniture it can be placed. any experience?
  13. Now that’s a carbuncle. Looks like a GCSE D&T project. sockets + usb are definite requirements. The Bluetooth speaker in ours was useful for a couple of years but has now been made obsolete by my Sonos. what a manufacturer needs to do now is make the top of the pop up bit a wireless charger so you don’t necessarily need to raise it and plug in to charge a Modern phone.
  14. We're still happy with our arrangement, discrete sockets have trailing lead issues and our island is big enough not to be ruined by using a pop-up plus we don't need to have things permanently plugged in so the island is usually clear. Keep meaning to buy a couple of these but never got round to it.
  15. Sensio ones are ok. Just be sure that drilling a big hole in your stone slab is the solution you want before you do it. I know a kitchen manufacturer who grimaces when he sees ours. He puts the sockets in his kitchen on the units under the worktop.
  16. How about a Wera advent calendar? http://products.wera.de/en/innovations_and_autumn_winter_campaign_2018_2019_adventskalender_2018.html
  17. All the working parts are still in the box :whistles:
  18. Maybe that’s where I’m going wrong
  19. I hope he likes Scottish peaty single malt whiskey ?
  20. I still need an imaginative, receptive plumber to help me with my UFH 3 years after the ‘build’. I’m willing to pay good money to the right candidate (hint, hint @Nickfromwales) but I have no confidence that anyone recommended or picked out of the phone book would be worth the money.
  21. If it stays dry for a couple of days now (some hope) I’ll just cut them down with the mower.
  22. The limit of my foraging is the masses of wild garlic we get in the spring. I'll pass on the mushrooms. Not bad for sub-urban sprawl. From what I read last night, sounds like they could be honey fungus as they've cropped up over the buried remains of 2 beech trees. felled 3 years ago but not turfed until last summer. Last autumn the ground was still settling in. This year its 2 x mushroom city.
  23. Lol, any? One under each colony. pic is a bit big is size but best resolution I have of that photo.
  24. That’s the slightly larger of 2 colonies growing out the lawn
  25. This is interesting...
