  1. No and it should have been discussed with you prior to supplying the door, especially if they weren’t able to sit it further below the ffl, as better options exist. This is a conversation they should have had with you, it is their responsibility as the supplier.
  2. Sorry having a BBQ with family today but I’ve had a brief look and I can understand the concerns. Your best bet is to speak to the install team/supplier raising concerns and if you have no luck speak to Fensa/Certass if they are registered and if you’re still not happy with response. Check if they are registered with the GGF and raise concerns with them.
  3. From recollection they’re transport packers. Can’t help with blind adjustment unfortunately, one if the reasons we stay clear and keep to accessible items. I can’t see water issue clearly, need to get inside to see it but that ain’t happening for a few hours yet 😉
  4. European glass will likely be marked on the spacer bar and not on the glass, some will.
  5. Should be more than enough.
  6. Top hung friction stay hinge, looks like a slim model but the size etc will all need to be checked. There may be a code on the hinge.
  7. Securistyle friction hinge https://www.securistyle.com/uk/en
  8. You’re not wrong, there are system suppliers such as Gutmann, Siegenia, Maco for example. There are many uPVC systems and glass suppliers, such as Pilkingtom, Guardian, Saint Gobain, Euroglas, AGC and hardware suppliers like Siegenia, Maco, Roto, Mila and more. There are manufacturers that put these systems together from the parts they purchase.
  9. Not for me to say publicly but Nordan have a place in the market as it’s a cheap product 😉
  10. I edited my post as you replied.
  11. Yes. Edit: I should qualify that by saying I’m in the industry, I have an advantage in knowing and seeing the reasons why. Others may not and therefor that difference may not be obvious until pointed out.
  12. The likes of Rationel, Velfac, Zyle Fenster, Ideal Combi are mid level in terms of cost, quality etc. The likes of Internorm, Gaulhofer, Katzbeck, Enersign are at the higher end in terms of cost and quality for example.
  13. Position 3, curtain walling every day of the week, it's too bulky just using window systems and may not even pass wind load calculations as windows (too much deflection).
  14. No, it's not the only approach but it is in my honest opinion, the only sensible approach but it will cost.
  15. Per m2 pricing, is very, very subjective. There are too many variables for it to be a good tool for comparison but it does give a baseline figure but I'm not a fan of it. At the mid level aspect of the market in terms or pricing, I'd say that £700 to £800 per m2 supply only, is a fair price. At the higher end of the market, I'd say that £1K to £1.2k per m2 is a fair price. Part of an overall order or one window? I'd say that's a fair price to be honest for one item, if it was part of a larger order, then I'd be looking for that to be a little less and in the £2.5K region but that's toughened on all panes (triple glazed), Pas 24 would be roughly the same.
  16. Hi Can you drop me a message with how many metres you require and I'll give you a price direct from Illbruck and a timescale. Thanks Craig
  17. Interesting, I need to look into that - not aware of that (you learn something every day), not sure how it works tbh.
  18. Concealed turn lock (it's not concealed but flush mounted) this is from a different supplier of course. Child finger restrictor The picture below shows the space available from the restrictor to the locking keep, you'd be able to judge easily if it fitted in place or not. Restrictor arm in the closed position.
  19. They are referring to the turn lock, not a restrictor. You can have a concealed or visible turn lock supplied by Internorm, an opening restrictor as mentioned above, would be an after-market solution and unlikely to be something the supplier or Internorm supported. You can get left and right options on Amazon, they're about £5 per restrictor and something you could do yourself.
  20. Usually the etched marking (stamp) is on the inside (usually), as @Mike says, use a light but it's very subjective in terms of everything else, we don't even know the window system or how it has been installed. It would all be guesswork but if aluminium and glass loose, it is possible that it's smart systems or Origin (more likely origin, which is actually Cortizo, at least the profiles are made for Origin by Cortizo).
  21. Yes they can be retrofitted, you’ll lose the key. The fixing point is using the screw that holds the mechanism to the sash, you have a couple but generally only one supplies to space for it to work due to mushroom pin/keep locations. You can only use one screw (see above pic). I tend to cut the head of a screw put it in the other screw hole and fix with gorilla glue. The actual restrictor will fix into place easy enough. This option would be the easier and most cost effective option, as you can this yourself. A couple of quid per restrictor, then your time. Check warranty scenario though. We wouldn’t have any issue with you doing this but others might.
  22. Yes Standard restrictors work but I can’t guarantee that the supplier will know how to fix them. They may say they don’t work but they do, they just need to understand what screw to remove on the mechanism and location. Which determines the finger restrictor position. I prefer side fixing but they can be fixed on the bottom.
  23. Usually it limits the turn to 90°.
  24. Misunderstanding, what I was saying was it's a replacement project and sometimes not everything has been taken into account or considered and sometimes it's wait and see what to do scenario after discussions with you if need be.
