Superwall / general quilt insulation won't do that - nice and easy to fit properly. Are you using some kind of PIR?
-
Glad you are sorted mate - they may well weather in to what you were expecting in the first place anyway.?
-
Best to have a go with a pressure washer then mate and see how they come up. There may be quite a change if mine were anything to go by.
-
No reason to hold off on the concrete though - has nothing to do with the brick.
-
Once you build to splash you are pretty committed to the brick! In terms of the authorities I would have thought you were pretty well covered if you have the consent for that brick and the delivery note to confirm that is what has been delivered. The only question is whether you are happy with it?
-
It is pretty thin but worth a go. Cheers.

I am just doing it now - as said above use gun grade foam in any gaps then I am taping up with this stuff - Gocableties Aluminium Foil Adhesive Insulation Tape 50metres x 100mm (4") Silver Premium Metal Roll: Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools Bit of a pain getting the backer off but no biggie.

By the looks of the Ibstock photo they are a multi stock brick but the ones so far out of the pack all look uniform and a lot redder. Might be worth digging another 50 or so out of the pack to see if it improves - keep to the one band popped. My experience with Ibstock bricks is that they do arrive rather dusty and settle in the weather - see the lift banding on one of mine at the joist lift and plate lift - these will all settle to the same colour as the ground floor once weathered. Don't know if it is worth having a go at them with a pressure washer to see if things change?

Making up about 600mm of ground.... That is why I have let the crap pile up - its all going to end up buried anyway.
-
Sounds like me..... You can run a saw in between the truss and the board to ease it. Needs to be tight though otherwise it falls out. I run a length of tape after between the trusses and staple it to the timber to make sure it stays in place - easier now with the windows in so the wind won't rip through. All of the off cuts create the mess from hell though - keeping them for now as you sometimes needs small bits to fill awkward spaces.
-
Provided you press down on the jigsaw the cut is pretty straight. I don't get any dust at all. Small bit of stud and a lump hammer to smash the board in and job done - it is surprisingly time consuming though - the attic room I am doing is massive.
-
Attic roof, dormers and windows complete. 1st fix Monday. Those Alu windows were seriously heavy with the glass in place - had to boom some in with the forks at the back over the scaffold - a bit hairy lifting a £1k slider 14m in the air! The full on transition from basically winter to the height of summer this week has taken it's toll on me and everyone else on site - it is a nightmare.
-
Ahh - not much help then.
-
How are you laying the slabs - will it be enough to displace the water to a level above the outlet height? Either way, if the workmanship was ok, I would be surprised if you were to see a problem in a medium term time frame - 15 -20 years or so.
-
This is what I bought mate - Bosch 2608635187 Soft Material Jigsaw Blade, 1 Lug, Black, Pack of 3: Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools Zero dust. They are 100mm blades but I am using them on 120mm PIR - just need to run the knife across the back of the board. I am making slow progress - keep getting called away or needing to jump in the forks to take a delivery etc. Not easy when you can't have a run at it.
-
It will eventually leak there because water always wins in the end but probably not in a timescale to bother you provided the roof workmanship is tidy. It would be nicer to have the fall right but, to be honest, I would take a view on it personally.
-
Doing it at the moment - it's not fun! Bought an Bosch insulation saw blade for the jigsaw which produces no dust though.

Shower control valves and toilet help
Faz replied to Vijay's topic in Bathrooms, Ensuites & Wetrooms
Don't be tempted to use the matching wall hung Vado sink tap though - the tap body has about 1.5mm of tolerance to the final tiled wall position on first fix to be able to set the taps square as the backer plates screw on ?. -

Stuck those Vado ones in 88 flats in London - didn't have any issues with them. These were handed over in late 2016. They are pricey though.... -
They look like they took the piss - can hardly complain tbh. Size and positioning - what did they expect. Muppets.

No meetings with the social housing crowd please!!!! Got involved as a Governor with Abbey College to help out with their redevelopment plans and jumped into an absolute nightmare - forgot the mantra - never volunteer!
-
I am in Ramsey - if you want me to swing by and have a look I will try (I was a Chartered Surveyor for 25+ years until I got fed up of sending the RICS £700 a year for nothing!). Doing my own developments now. I am not offering to do any works there btw - got my hands full where I am at tbh!
-
I am on white muck - no issues there. A full pallet arrived yesterday 2 days after order.

I have 10-15 years to plan everything... how would you use the time?
Faz replied to JayUK's topic in Introduce Yourself
10 - 15 years? Spend 5 - 8 of them drinking beer and sleeping to store some up! Don't tell the Mrs 2+ years off site start that 'we have plenty of time to sort out the layout' as that phrase seems to boomerang on you when you are a few months off finishing up! I don't know what they think 'plenty of time' means but it certainly doesn't relate to a site programme. I now understand why contractors hate variations especially late ones (like when you have built the f*cking partition!) - they are generally unnecessary and annoying! -
And costs a fortune!
