  1. All I would say though is not to fire in at the Board level - if possible wrap in something complimentary first and the explain your issue. Go down that route and it sometimes works wonders - you don't want to be percived as the angry nutter!
  2. I have to say full credit to Phillipe - MD Customers at EDF - he responded within 5 mins and bounced it to Geoff - Director for metering who responded again to all 60 seconds later. Wouldn't like to be in the local EDF depot tomorrow morning! There is nothing that rolls faster downhill than a big ball of shite! A useful resource for anyone who needs it - CEO email addresses - E-mails address database lists to find contact details of Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and Managing Directors - free list - UK - US - Asia - customer services - customer care - boss - top man - top woman - complaints resolver I have been doing this for years and it is surprising at the results you get.
  3. I booked the meters for Plot 1 and Plot 3 at the start of September with EDF and was quoted a 6 week lead and given fitting dates of 8/10 and 11/10. Got 2 texts last week cancelling each in turn. Now quoted another 6 week lead time.... Just sent my moaning email to the MD - we will see if that achieves anything.
  4. It can all be done (goal posts etc) but it is all just additional cost.
  5. Bummer. Throw up a floor plan bud.
  6. Well, you have to ask yourself how far you are prepared to compromise your current build / expose yourself to additional costs against the likelihood of it being permitted / you being arsed to do it tbh. I think only you can weigh that up - I think your solution to the current issue is high quality stud (4x2 cls) which is as solid as block if done right but you need to assess the options.
  7. Are you going to do an additional floor or is a 'nice to have the option' for a future buyer?
  8. An internal wall is likely to have a 450mm bucket doing the trench. Stud all the way for me.
  9. And stick to your 2600mm floor to ceilings - that's is what I an doing and it is awesome.
  10. You don't want the wall off centre to the concrete due to rotational force. Change to 4x2 CLS stud? Pretty solid stuff tbh.
  11. I used Kronospan Fastclean deck with the joints taped - they guarantee up to 42 days (I recall) exposed. This went on in late Feb. Haven't had any issues. Wouldn't worry about it.
  12. Ordered it all last weekend - 1 oven, 1 hob, 2 dishwashers and 1 hood rocked up this week. Waiting for the rest of it. 5 different suppliers in the end.
  13. I just looked at consumer reviews on various retailer sites. When Moores kitchens were talking about the supply problems for the Bosch / Siemens gear they were pushing towards the Electrolux brands - went on the AEG site and read the reviews on their own effing site which were appalling! That is what prompted me to go off and buy and supply my own gear.
  14. I went for Silestone on mine - have been sticking it into my schemes since 2016 (or the Symphony Earthstone variant) and haven't had any issues tbh. £5k on mine (at developer pricing for multiple plots) was enough to spend imo and then some.
  15. I went for the Bosch one mate - rocked up on Wednesday. Whatever you are going for try to secure the supply asap. Appliances are rapidly becoming as rare as rocking horse shite.
  16. Don't forget that you have to allow for the carcass widths on both ends mate. I have chosen a 900mm unit for mine but who knows - maybe yours is different so go for it if you are confident.
  17. I think most train sets are bought by fathers to play with themselves - that was the case for me as a kid. Not knocking it - in today's world of work where everything is somewhat nefarious, it is difficult to feel a sense of achievement in many office type jobs so the pleasure of building something physical and permanent is understandable. I got back into building and detailing model aircraft a few years back (site work has put paid to that mind you!) and had really enjoyes making something physical and detailed. Got a few kits to make under the bed if I can ever be arsed!
  18. Tring is a nice place - worked there as a first job. The Tring bypass as it was in those days was a proper car proving ground! Mind you - I treat it the same way now in the RS only it goes all the way to the M25 with no cameras. Happy days.
  19. This. AEG/Zanussi and Electrolux are all the same with slightly different styling. On an 88 unit scheme we fitted AEG for the stuff you could see and Zanussi for the integrated kit. Apart from rejections for tiny scratches on the induction hobs we didn't have any issues with any of it. I have been to the Electrolux factory and saw AEG and Zanussi integrated fridges on the same line - the only difference was the AEG fridges had 2 blue tint drawers whereas the Zanussi ones were clear. Obviously there were significant differences when it came to the retail price! For my house we are installing Bosch / Siemens. Be aware of the lead times at the moment though.
  20. Too tight - probably won't fit bud. How about a 900mm unit?
  21. I feel your pain looking at this shite - just getting hold of the gear is the issue at the moment. I was looking at the noise of various bits (dishwasher being the main annoying bit of kit potentially) but it is not so vital to us as the kitchen is massive. In fact the whole thing is far too big really if I am honest.
  22. Used to go past that office as it was being built as a young lad - went back to Aylesbury recently - it is a horrible cesspit of a town. Never the best 40 years ago mind. I remember when they had lights on the crossing o/s the Rothmans building that caused chaos which improved when they dropped in a mini roundabout. See the idiots have gone back to lights again - wtf?
  23. Afraid so - that would be February time. This is what that room looks like now - you can see the return detail here too.
  24. They are not cuts - they return into the garden room.
  25. ? They did fill it when they topped out just before the closers went on.
