  1. Fucks sake ! Cook proper food . A nice steak or make a curry ( I can do 50 off the top of my head ) - I am an expert chef though of course ?
  2. Tape measure and zip ties . All bases covered ( he says now ... )
  3. BC ? They are a joke . Once the timber frame was up I called them to look . I ask when I should call them next - her answer “ when it’s finished “ . Perhaps it’s such a perfect job no one needs to inspect- or perhaps they are lazy ....
  4. Assume I cut the polythene around the edges - it has no purpose now ?
  5. Here yo go @Onoff cant walk on it . But looks spot on ! Shame every trade busts my architecturally eclectic staircase ! . They must all be fatter than me .
  6. Lol i did take loads of photos with a tape measure in the floor - just in case said plan fails
  7. No ‘groan’ emoji
  8. Well ! My future staircase might land somewhere and need bolting to the floor . Built in wardrobes might need a floor fixing . Kitchen units probably won’t but nice to know where the pipes are . You never know !!!!
  9. That area is I think 3 zones . So it’s the return / flow for each zone . Needless to say this was the supplied design . Actually I got that wrong . That ‘clump’ of pipes are running back to the manifold which was behind me .
  10. In my googling quest I came across automated loft ladders . Needless to say I got excited watching them open , extend , retract and close ? But the cost ended my quest . Typical price 2k + ? Though I did see one for a slightly more acceptable £500 mark . Anyone got one ? . It’s a lazy mans toy . Otherwise I’ll have to wait for @Onoff to make one .....
  11. Erm ; all covered in screed now .?
  12. Hey all A nice simple question ! Once I had got all the ufh pipes in I attached zip ties at strategic points to stick up through the screed . Undoubtedly these zip ties will eventually snap . As it’s a sand / cement screed can I just paint lines with paint ? . I don’t want to put something on the dried screed that will prevent / mess up the tile adhesive . Some photos of pipes !! screeders there today . “ we won’t block the lane mate “ .... ??

    Delivery ?

Top job ! tbh once you get going it doesn’t take too long - though when I had to move 120 tons of stone I did swear a lot ?
  15. Or into the ground ?
  16. Sorry sand , cement WITH fibre
  17. My screeder also recommends sand / cement screed over other choices . Cheaper , and no issues when you tile to it . Also he was confident it would be more level .....
  18. Yeah I know . But wouldn’t this be more fun . Drive Cctv car on the ceiling !!! . ??
  19. I was thinking ...... No matter how much I plan there’s bound to be a situation where I need to get a cable across the ceiling ; be it cat 5 , mains , lighting - whatever . What about a small RC controlled car with camera to drag the cable through ? Madness or brilliance ? ?
  20. @Amateur bob there are many ways to achieve your dream . My method is to go without anything ; so holidays , meals no worries . But ! ? , I do as much of the work as I can . It takes forever. I borrow everywhere . oh yes I forgot ( how could I ) . Our current living accommodation is a ‘compromise ‘ ...... I can’t recommend my approach. But it’s one way to have your cake and eat it ?
  21. Any dewalt xr tool - solid gift . They are great to use for example maybe installing some walk on glazing ...
  22. I was interested in built in blinds . But most companies I’ve spoke to that don’t do them say it’s because they cause too many problems...
  23. Walk on glazing a BIG must have .... Would make a fantastic gift , be the envy of his friends.....
