  1. Yes. This is the exactly the type of thing we are having. 10 -> 15mm thick though so similar to a normal wall tile; I believe
  2. Yeah it’s a shock ! Like the (expletive deleted)ers going to explode !
  3. Must admit a short throw floor based projector does interest me. Imagine the fun during 'those' parties!

You already have the time. You just need to let the important things that you must do fade to the side. TIME created!. Now (expletive deleted) about to your hearts content!
  5. I think I know what I will do / attempt. Top part ( timber frame ) 3x2 running horizontal 30cm apart. Then the backer board can attach direct to those ( backer is 120cm x 60cm ); so just noggins at the ends. Lower part just do whatever I want and then just 'ledge' to upper part to suit.
  6. I do like. But may be slightly beyond my capability!!!
  7. My sins on show!. NEVER!. Hide everything....
  8. Hang on I could stick tacky led lights in there for added cheapness effect!
  9. SWMBO isn't actually worried about a ledge . It's me . I think I can live with a ledge and everything fitted far tighter and better ( using less materials ). Talked myself into it.
  10. Are you suggesting the timber frame higher up is effectively hanging off L shaped frame cramps?. So the tile backer frame is sat with a gap ( because of the cramps) in front the other frame ???
  11. Frame cramps? - allow ME to do it perfectly?? No additional services to cover up - but a multitude of sins for sure. I'm still worried about a lumpy frame effectively 'hanging' off the timber frame. The more I think the more I worry. The upper part (timber frame of the build ) I could just screw the tile backer board straight too (with a few extra noggins) nice and easy. Still tempted by a lip/ledge to avoid 2 ton's of material falling and killing SWMBO....wait a minute......
  12. Lol I just set it and forget it. I do run it on auto. So it will boost when a shower occurs and have it only for night time ( schedule ). Equally I haven't touched summer bypass ( I assume automatic? ) and frost protection just leave alone. My vent Axis is running very cool. I guess because it extracts the heat it cools itself aswell; this I think is normal. When you do commission it it sounds like an F16 taking off - don't be scared ?
  13. SWMBO wanted this and I've considered the amount of pain ; financial and time wise. Needless to say I lost the battle! The wall in question is approx 7m high and 4m wide. I have to bridge different wall 'levels' i.e. not level. As you can see below ground ( stud against walled waterproof membrane ) I'm ok. As I get higher the upper house timber frame gets further away from me!! I can bridge to it - but I'm worried that's a lot of weight hanging off timber -> timber -> timber ( the frame! ). I *could* put a horrible ledge step in it just to get over the issue - but that will just collect dust and probably ( once the staircase is in ) be unreachable. Should i worry about the weight?. Gone for 12.5mm tile backboard to support the beast. (expletive deleted) @Onoff and his bits of flints glued in a box - this is where it's at ! ?

Looks like you shat in those shoes
  15. Yeah that’s a better plan ! So cut and just make an air tight box . Won’t cause condensation or anything to occur would it ???
  16. Don't think so. It's not as flexible as it looks... Did see this though... https://www.bpcventilation.com/75mm-90-bend
  17. Living on site is worse!. Now I go and look at things all the time and worry about the next f up. These red mvhr pipes change from a low level ceiling to a higher level ceiling. The problem is ;that higher ceiling needs to happen as soon as possible after the lower one ( due to staircase and head height issues ). But the pipes of course need a 'run' to gradually rise to the new level. Can I cut them and fit some kind of 90/45 junction so I can change height far quicker???
  18. Mods are slow today ( hung over ) - you’ll be just a distance memory soon ….
  19. Not your arse ! Not again please
  20. My seed ? In your bed ? ?
  21. Beds not for sleeping anyway …

Expectations are high so don't (expletive deleted)ing disappoint!
  23. Don’t need to have mvhr . The switch in it may already function on rate of change rather than absolute. I have multi sensors in each room which also measure humidity linked to my HA So I can do whatever I want , so there !
  24. Nah
  25. Yeah could be . it reacts really quickly to humidity I.e you have a shower and within 5 seconds it boosts automatically . It’s on ‘low’ at night ( when I hear it most of course ) - the tone does change so assume it’s reacting to humidity. I did see that you can configure low/medium/high to whatever you want - but I’m reluctant to lower it to reduce noise and it’s ability to work correctly. Originally it wasn’t planned to be in the mistresses bedroom , but you know … things change . The biggest “ I’ve got an mvhr “ thing I noticed is zero condensation in bathroom/ensuite after a shower . The air is clear of that humid mist you usually get . Air in house always feels fresh ( if I turn it off for 12 hours , go out , come back , even mistress and SWMBO notice ) . I will try sealing tape first . If that knocks 10db off I think that would be great .
