Surprised they expect the sink to just go straight to the wall I.e no rubber packer or similar . As my tiles are not flat I might put exactly that in there .

Where is the kWh price heading in 2022?
Pocster replied to epsilonGreedy's topic in General Self Build & DIY Discussion
I’ve just renewed my octopus go . Off peak up from 5p to 7.5p ; standing charge doubled . Still ; I think a lot worse is to come for people whose contract expires as we approach winter …. -
Appears my bolts are 100mm after taking one out - advert didn’t state that . Anyway ordered another kit at 140mm …
-
Finally got round to this . Had to sink ( pun not intended ) the bolts right into the wall leaving a fixing that’s too short . Thickness of sink is 30mm - barely that on thread left let alone washer then nut . Presumably I simply need a longer threaded bolt .

Wouldn’t surprise me at all . Or they suddenly take stock and remove Cantilevers , non curved glazing , reduce glazing ; tell architect to stop using clients money to full fill his own ambition. -

It will turn out as a 1.3million build . -
Andersen is good but expensive. Software requires some understanding of its quirks ….

F me ! Just spoke to them and got a sensible quote . Around 700 quid . Strangely enough the frame costs more than the glass ! Nice one @markc 👍👍👍
-
Just got another similar quote ffs ! Its just a light well ! I do remember as a kid walking over those glass blocks in the pavement presumably for shop basement lighting . That still exist ? . Indeed *any* cheaper method I’ll entertain ( got another of these to do also ! )
-
I’ll PM them
-
Do you know a few choice words came to mind . I won’t type them .
-
Yes . I know . Any recommendations for a supplier with sensible pricing . Just randomly tried squaresoft and got a quote of 1.3k + vat ! . That ain’t happening!

I *think* I’ve got it all sussed now

Pw2+ only available in the states at the moment

But isn’t it ? . Take a large Tescos store - all that roof area ; all that car parking area which could have PV above it . No idea what a Tescos kw consumption is per hour - but a big array would more than cover it - even with no battery storage . Just seems mad when “ every little helps “ - yet they do (expletive deleted) all …..
-
Why not ? I do . Tescos ( other supermarkets do exist ) roof area and a large car park all ripe for PV . Churches , universities, large gyms ( e.g David Lloyd ) , stadiums , schools - the list is endless . All that roof area and land area - yet almost most no PV panels and no battery storage. Why do I and a few others feel the need but large corporate bodies don’t . Cost ? . They’d save in the long term and good PR . So what’s the issue ?
