For my underground build with parking above this was tricky ( specifically the insulation ) . Think I did 150mm screed with rebar . This sat on vac insulation which in turn sat on 200mm concrete and rebar .

But we decided a dual approach from different aspects was better . On my planning committee as I’ve implied some had very little if any planning knowledge ( f knows how they get on it ) - so you need to appeal to them also .

At my appeal one of the committee members didn’t understand the plans ( wft ! ) . So voted against rather than abstaining- w a n k e r . Lots of neighbors said they would turn up to object and have their 3 minutes . But very few did ; they spoke shite ( how upsetting it was blah blah blah ) . Op must say why he wants it “ longtime dream “ , “ quality build “ , “ we need more self builds “ etc etc I.e milk it . Architect deals with technical merit .

Nope . Done that . It decides to update at some point when it wants . As it’s running headless I don’t check it regularly for when it wants to update / screw things up . After an update some ha things don’t work without manual input . It’s not like it updates / reboots and all is good . Just wish it could email me or similar before an update ….

Zigbee stuff in my limited experience can be a bit “ erm “ . If you use a dedicated bridge like Philips hue and anything compatible with that - should be good . But once you venture off that path then you take on the devils pants .
