What’s your subsoil? We have clay underneath so spread 20T manure across the area and rotavated it in to the clay and then compacted and spread about 100mm of topsoil using a digger and the raked it level-ish, light compaction with a water filled roller, then raked the top, added a new seed fertiliser and then seeded with our seeds of choice. I had a long chat with ChatGPT about seeds specific for our requirements and ended up with a large variety of different seeds. About 1/3 rye grass for quick establishment, 1/3 tall fescue which does well in clay and dry conditions due to long/deep roots and the final 1/3 a mixture of other fescues and a small amount of bent grass.

Yes. Definitely. When architecting new ideas there are often “future developments“ suggested without even asking for them.

I don’t have a link but it was the 7.4m Trade Master Professional Scaffold Tower

Our design went through a number of iterations as I told them what I wanted but it wasn’t how they normally did it so it took some back and forth. Got there in the end though and saved me messing around in loopcad. I had many other things to focus my time on.

Another Wunda here. They designed it for me and then gave a great price on the parts which meant I didn’t have to hunt around and source from various places. Was one of my easier decisions on the build!

Got mine from https://www.bpsdepot.co.uk

nope. but i use exactly the same AI for my work. 😉

i use Claude Sonnet 4.0 (so much better than 3.5!) in VSCode using the Roo extension. it's mind blowingly good. i've vibe coded the conversion of an old Perl script of mine that automated golf tee time bookings in to Python including running from systemd, multithreading, retries, integration with Discord to send notifications and much much more and i didn't type a single line of code. i did a lot of prompting but Claude wrote all the code and fixed the issues it created in that code. saved me about 2 weeks of development time which i just don't have.

Norrsken - Let them airtight tape or do it myself?

Latzel Dammstoffe. there are a few threads/posts on here about them. others have had success with them as well. -

Elite installations are great guys. they installed our doors and windows and couldn't be happier with their work. really nice to have on site as well. they didn't do our taping though as we did the whole house ourselves so i can't comment as to their ability with that! -
Paslode 360Xi Framing Nailer Vs Paslode IM350+
Thorfun replied to flanagaj's topic in Tools & Equipment
I had the Hikoki. Misfired like crazy. Took it in for repair and was told there’s nothing wrong with it, they just do that. Got my money back and bought a Paslode. It’s not missed a beat. -
looked in to this this morning and it's too late for me as i've already run the speaker cable for passive speakers. i might've considered it at first fix stage but i would probably have run speaker cable as well so as to not be limited to Loxone speakers. although the 1.5mm cable in the tree cable could also be used for audio i guess.

thanks. I'm looking at B&W speakers as well as my brother-in-law works for them and I'm trying to get a deal! for 1st floor speakers I can get access from the loft and add MDF backboxes but for the ground floor I'll need to cut a big square in the ceiling to add MDF backboxes and then patch up the repair. a pain but I didn't think of this early enough in the build when I was running the speaker cable. interesting that you're only running a single speaker in the bedroom, I'm struggling to come to terms with running only a single speaker and not a stereo-in-a-single-speaker in the bathrooms! it's just too many channels and too high a cost to justify stereo in the bathrooms. but I think in the bedroom it's worth it. I have a Unifi network so hopefully I won't have any issues with the audio server over that and I might simply run a 2.5mm cable from the PSUB to the network cabinet for reduced cost but I'll have a think about it.

our lot just angled the banks back to a suitable angle. not sure how much science was involved in the angle but we didn't have any bank collapses. they did put plastic sheeting over it though to reduce the risk of rain causing soil slippage.

hey @Kelvin! i'm starting to think about adding my audioserver to my setup. Can i ask what in-ceiling speakers you used? And also what PSU are you using to power the audioserver and stereo extensions? and a generic question to any knowledgable Loxone folk about Tree turbo. The audioserver datasheet says that Tree Turbo and Tree are not compatible. so i presume that the AudioServer doesn't connect to the miniserver by tree but accesses it via the network? the datasheet also says to use 1.5mm cable for the power for the audioserver/Tree turbo. but running the power and 24V through a cable size calculator it looks like 1mm would suffice. i have an audioserver and 4 stereo extensions but will probably add another couple of extensions to make it 6 in total. i can easily have a spare power outlet from my Powersupply and backup unit so that would be able to supply 240W of power but my audioserver will be in my network rack which will result in about a 5m length of wire from PSUB to the audioserver so i'm thinking about getting a standalone PSU just for the audio server and adding it to the DIN rail in the network cab as over 5m i'd need a 2.5mm cable. still doable though!

i think we'll have plenty other options, don't worry.
