Colloquially known as "5 holes" due to the 5 adjustment positions. Try and drop the h to sound like you know what you're talking about. For example: "Whacked a bit of tape round it & managed to get a couple o' turns with the 5 'oles and that sorted it!" Builders crack showing is optional.

Yep. Rental. Agreed but not my place/money.

Well he's had a go. All apparently tanked behind with Aqua Seal I'd have to re gloss this rad and the cupboard door above: Messy git, not protecting the new bath and taps. I think he used my Fugi tool for the silicone... WC wall next as per my other thread. I fear much input from me will be needed. Still, I'm only standing on the shoulders of the giants here! That window would drive me nuts:

Extractor not staying on (on lighting circuit)
Onoff replied to gravelld's topic in Electrics - Kitchen & Bathroom
The fan likely doesn't need an earth but what happens if some muppet bangs a nail in or puts a screw through the CABLE supplying the fan??? Good to have the earth continuous from the supply, to the back box then onto and "park" at the fan. -

Imo they've even scrimped on the plasterboard screws. Should be about 150mm max spacing I think. Guessing they didn't tank the walls and floor... Must get back to mine! -

Guessing they've set the basin too high? Thought the pedestal was supposed to sit in a recess under the basin? Looks like the gap has been made up with silicone. -

I'm sure as in my amateurish attempts at a bathroom refurb are light years ahead of this debacle. Still, guarantees they get loads of rectification works...probably their own. I always find it strange, different perceptions of "quality" and what some so called professionals offer up. -
Thanks! Not sure if that assembly will put him too far left even if cut down but I'll look at it. Can try with one of my spare frames. Yep, it's that bathroom I showed in another thread.

Christ on a bike! Makes me look professional! -
@AliG, I've ordered two, one "ordinary" as per your link for the bathroom cupboard door and then a "privacy" one for the main bathroom door. Not sure on how they differ... Best sharpen my chisels! https://www.doorhandlecompany.co.uk/excel-hardware-precision-bolt-through-bathroom-privacy-bolt--18366/ Cheers

This is what he has at present: I've suggested he move the basin to the left for start. He might then build a dwarf wall out of 6"x2" to mount the Geberit frame in, likely bringing the WC position left as well, away from the radiator. Guessing you must nigh on burn your leg sitting on the throne here! I'm thinking he could use a 100mm offset adapter instead of the Geberit one and just twist it a little if he's bringing everything to the left? Might actually be better, giving leeway to adjust. This Amazon one seems bang onto cope with the pan 100mm stub to the 110mm soil. Biggest issue is the he isn't ME! He doesn't live close and whilst I'd relish the job I'm worried it'll be too much for him.

Thanks. Tbh they'll be worth more than the doors! ? They take "standard" handles etc?
-
Got a link? I'm only finding them for £30 upwards. Thanks.

Thanks. Not cheap though!

Would these magnetic latches fit into a cheap 34mm thick door?

My mate (well his SWMBO) wants a wall hung WC like mine. Just measured mine up: He's hampered by the existing through the wall, 110mm soil. Centre is 175mm above the floorboards: We need then a nom. 65mm "offset" fitting to go from the 100mm dia poo pipe stub on the wc to the 110mm soil coming through the wall. Is there a Geberit fitting that'll do this does anyone know? And clip into the Geberit frame. Cheers

Old suite looked alright to me...

My Homebase basin is OK but the matching pedestal is appalling. The thing isn't symmetrical.
-
Homebase basin/pedestal and bath. Bernstein wc. Mix of Geberit, Hudson Reed and Bristan shiny bits. Somehow it all works.

The apprenticeship for bathroom fitting is about 8 years and can be done online.

How would you get colour variation with a single colour mix? I did some imprinted concrete years ago, mock block paving if you like, about 12'x12'. Mixed the concrete and it was the colour of ketchup. Let it go off and imprinted it with a homemade mould. I then dipped an old broom head in black dye and "flecked" the whole area. The finishing touch was to run along all the mock mortar joints with a half inch paint brush. The flecks of black dye in the joints were enough to colour the joints one single colour. Still looks good nearly 30 years later. Will try and find a pic. Edit: Found the pics. From memory I chambered the timber beads that formed the joints and used WD40 to coat the imprint board - the side of an old wardrobe:

@Triassic, ref the cabin, you had no issues like being in an AONB, SSSI etc?
