  1. Yup, three way valve wired correctly on the three way valve pipe “B” goes to DHW and “A” to heating, is this correct as I vaguely remember this being asked by someone else!
  2. Dunno? I will recheck wiring re NC @ NO . (I need another coffee already?)
  3. Right, new day, start again. I started running through the installer configuration on the command unit and 104 is the output test (enables various functions to be tested), 1 was pump test, yes that worked ok. 6 is the three way valve test, nothing happened!. I have noticed that the three way valve is permenantly on (power applied to it) even when the DHW is switched off.? question. Is the three way valve normally sitting to provide Heating then “on” (powered up) when wanting DHW. (This is what I would have thought). If so mine is not working correctly. just draining the DHW tank and turning off the immersion to test.
  4. No they don’t! But I cut mine off anyway. I lined my box with sound absorbing foam and under the pump but still noisier than I would like. I’m with @Roger440 about redesigning it. I like the idea of burying it (eyesore as well) but with high water table I have to be careful, perhaps a drain down to the rumble drain below?. Mass and below ground seem a very good idea. I have much to much to do to finish the build but it’s on my “to do” list for next year.
  5. Gosh, mine is about 15mm to 20mm from memory.
  6. There are good trades people out there, keep his number, he is worth knowing.?
  7. Don’t think so, some parameters already there, need to give it a clear head tomorrow after reading up.
  8. Yes the default for 100 is 1, but I changed it to 4 (with nui as thermostat). Them went to 113 to set water temp and it’s not there. Just changed 100 back to 1 and 113 is there and I can change the temp????. as an aside, the command unit now shows an alarm, the GMC board shows alarm 9, flow switch/ pump, checked for air and non there?, didn’t @ProDave have a similar problem and ended up with a scrap ASHP. ITS SUNNY AND MY JCB IS CALLING ME ? i need to get get my head around this, I will read up everything tonight and start with a clear head tomorrow, immersions back on!
  9. I knew it was too easy! Just changed command unit to act as room stat,( 100 changed to 4) that worked ok but scrolled to 113 to check heating temp for UFH and it’s not there!!!, nor is 146 (not that I need to change this). Will double check everything.
  10. Brill, will do. programming is not my thing, it’s sunny and I want to be digging with my JCB. but needs must.
  11. Yup, got that, thanks a lot. I am just trying the ASHP (after changing the GMC board) to make sure it works as it was an EBay special with no guarantee ?. I will pick your brains again about heating curves once I establish it works. ALL HAIL THE KNOWLEDGEBLE ONE. ! @JSHarris This is yet another example of the good will of members, sharing invaluable knowledge .
  12. Great, but I think your idea of a different DHW temp to heating temp (which I believe I can do with using the heating curves ) might be better, you pointed out that constant 45’ would lead to defrosting cycles which I would like to avoid for obvious reasons.
  13. As you may have seen from the other thread about GMC board problems I have got my ASHP working ?. @JSHarris what climatic curve would you suggest as a starting point for me?
  14. .........Stop press........., now it’s stopped raining I have looked at mine and I am getting about 14v ac from my 12v transformer. (So that’s not blown, ) phew. I have replaced the board and.............my little led is flashing as it should ?and no error codes on the command unit. I am going to review the wiring and confirm it’s all ok then try it out. Here’s hoping. ? what do do you think of my high tech earth strap???
  15. It was nice to see the cob “castle” finished, I always wondered if he finished it.
  16. +1 for torx. ?
  17. +1, I am lucky to have retired (a bit early) and have the finance in place to do my build but I take my hat off for those not in my place.
  18. I’ve got an old timex, I wonder ?.
  19. Mine is a demolish and rebuild and After doing refurbs for years I found the new build soo much better, no compromise and no old stuff to deal with (and got the VAT back, or not charged it).
  20. I really regret not helping @JSHarris when he was struggling to instal his MVHR ducts on his own, I was waiting for planning so kicking my heals a bit at the time. Just an extra pair of hands with some jobs makes it oh so much easier.
  21. Only if he is Muslim.
  22. Hooray, my new board has arrived. BEWARE, IT HAS A STATIC DEVISE NOTICE, ONLY HANDLE ON A STATIC SAFE WORKSTATION. I will earth myself before unwrapping it and installing it. I will check the 12volt supply. Currently shifting building materials around site so will attempt to fit/check 12v ASAP and will report back.
  23. I made my own frames in PSE to match wall thicknesses, painted frames and oak doors are ok in our opinion.
  24. My pet hate is plasterers who skim too deep and round off to the frame, this means the architrave won’t sit flat. ?
  25. I wish now I had made the concrete base larger to enable a brick box to built around it.
