Traditionally-styled low temp radiators?
Big Jimbo replied to YodhrinForge's topic in Central Heating (Radiators)
Always reminds me of being told how many atoms you could fit on a pin head. Which, I might add, I immediately forgot. -
Traditionally-styled low temp radiators?

I just love @SteamyTea. I never understand a blinking word he says, but, I always makes me realise that a decent school, was completely wasted on me. I defo bunked off that lesson. -
+1 . Are they straight out of uni ?

Smarties only have One hole. It used to have a nice plastic lid, with a letter of the alphabet on the rear, so you could collect them to spell your name. Those were the days.

Timber frame with stone cladding / render - Window details

If you were to set them back further, you would need to make sure you were getting deep cills. -
Timber frame with stone cladding / render - Window details
Big Jimbo replied to HanleeHouse's topic in Windows & Glazing
I think the way @JohnMo has done it, is the only way that will look decent. The only other way I can think of is to do it as the picture above , but set the window back further in the frame, and fit say a cladding to the sides and head, that would match the window colour. Bring the cladding out to the edge of the stone. The only other thing I would say, is that if you bring the windows forward, you might be bringing them outside the insulated envelope. BRegs say the frames should overlap the insulation by 30mm. You can combat this by fitting insulated plasterboard to the reveals inside. You just need to think about not creating thermal cold spots. -
The problem with both the NPPF, and the Local Policies are written in such an ambiguous way, that effectively allow for interpretation . (done on purpose to keep the Law sector employed ? ). Also, perhaps to prevent the overworked, and underpaid (crappy, and lazy) planning officers from being accused of getting it wrong. It is quite easy to find cases with any local authority, where applications for very similar proposals, are refused by One officer, and granted by another. The system is broken IMO.

How to fill small gaps in Herringbone flooring
Big Jimbo replied to _Alex_'s topic in Wood & Laminate Flooring
The flooring also has a micro bevel edge. I have laid solid oak herringbone flooring, and used the old dust and glue method to seal up small gaps. If you try doing that, you are going to have to try and put the micro bevel back in. Sounds like a nightmare. I'd leave well alone if your gaps are as small as that shown. -
Might sound harsh, but can you ask for all your money, and fees back, together with some compensation ? It it a known / large developer ?
-
How far is your nearest neighbour ? could you join onto there main sewer connection ?
-
Just damn handy then that the little buggers can't burrow through pea shingle.
-
Or, tell e where it is so I can buy it...... Yep, deffo do that, it's a rubbish piece of land. Honest.
-
I thought the NPPF said "Village" and didn't mention "Settlement Boundary" ???? I'd be buying that bit of land pronto. The definition for infill has been reduced from 6 houses, to a row of 3. That is infill all day long.....Buy it. Get a decent planning consultant and you should be sorted. Don't forget, if infill, the effect on the Greenbelt no longer has to be considered. It's not isolated and will be considered sustainable , because it is within a row of existing house. Because it is in the middle of other houses it does not encroach into the open countryside. Is it cheap ??????? Buy it, and hurry up, before somebody else does. The only reason it has failed in the passed is because the application has not been framed properly. Hurry up. Stop reading. Buy it. Quickly .

They are defo Rat droppings. I've seen enough of them. Not long ago I removed about 25+ nests from a ceiling.
-
I would say that is more than One rat. I had them at my daughters. I used the stainless steel flap things, and told her to flush twice. Bit of a waste of water, but in a couple of years or more, they have never blocked. I have heard that they chew through the plastic Ones. The only problem she had was when a rat died in the soil pipe, swelled up and blocked it. Was a bugger to get it out, and the size of a small cat. I was talking to a BCO about why we surround the pipes with 10mm gravel. Stop them being crushed ? He said he suspected that it was because they can't tunnel through 10mm pea shingle, as it keeps collapsing on them. Apparently, underground, they follow the line of soil pipes because they know that that generally leads to lintels, which allows them access to cavity walls. horrid bar stewards.
