Bath Surround / Boxing In, and concealed pipework

You called??? -
It’s small enough already without losing a further 2inches from each wall ? ive just realised you meant pack out with 6mm board off cuts... I read it as pack out with 50mm insulation ?... Not a bad idea. ?
-
Funnily enough that’s pretty much my situation. I had grand plans that were quashed... I’m now going to be in a 6m2 potting shed ?

Which mobile mast am I reaching?

Just call your mobile provider and they’ll tell you which one you connect too more frequently. -
I’ve been kick out to the bottom of the garden ?

As diaking has been put back in their room (guest room / home office), I’ll hijack the thread a little bit. I have a cheap shed coming which I’ll use as an office. It’s framed with 44mm studs and I was thinking about putting 25mm insulation, followed by vapour barrier, topped with 6mm ply. There have been lots of discussions whether there is any point adding insulation. Will 25mm make any noticeable difference?

If it were me, I would tile up to the ceiling, then either grout or silicone between tile and ceiling. silicone will hide the cut edges too
-
I expect the adhesive comes off the tile face a lot easier too!

Joining PIR insulation under floating plywood floor
Gav_P replied to Hastings's topic in Heat Insulation
Nope not done that... I guess I love to torture myself! In the same way that I will struggle for 20 minutes with the wrong tool rather than getting up and going to the tool box to get the correct tool and do the job in seconds ? -
Turns out it’s happening to me.. she’s just ordered me a new shed for my home office.
-
My wife wanted that but we don’t have the space, I’m not building an extension for the dog... so outdoors it is.
-
Thanks for this, I had spotted them previously, but I noticed that most mention that the hot tap is for showering before/after swimming/hot tub and I thought it might not get year round use, where as mine would be used most days in the winter.

Joining PIR insulation under floating plywood floor
Gav_P replied to Hastings's topic in Heat Insulation
I think it’s brilliant stuff, but I hate it! I end up with it stuck to everything, walls, floors, ceilings, the sink, the dog, the car, trees.... and I’d only be trying to create a seal in a small hole drilled through a wall. Oh, and I end up with an elephants head size bit of foam growing out of a 10mm hole in the wall!!... which also sticks to everything within a 5m radius. -
Yeah your right... I think my preference is a shower mixer outside, it appears quite a few people do this, so I guess frost isn’t a big issue. If it busts, I’ll have to rethink then.

I’ve got a big dog (labradoodle) and any slipping and sliding would definitely not do his hips any good. Both labradors and poodles suffer hip problems and labradoodles combine both .
-
But that also means I can’t wash the dog for 3 months, and that would be the worst time of the year when he gets filthy on every walk.
-
That sounds like a good idea... and I already have some Aco type drains hanging around here somewhere. Yeah this was kind of a fall back position, but I wanted to reduce any fannying about, because the times I’ll need it will be when it’s cold wet and dark and I’ll find an excuse not to wash the dog. ?

I’ve just realised my glaring issue with the thread title ??♂️ I was thinking about a thermostatic shower, but wasn’t sure about it being affected by freezing? definitely won’t be using a normal shower tray for this exact reason. I was wondering if people had used any kind of enclosure (2, 3 or 4 sides)? What kind of ‘flooring’ which allowed ample drainage rather than just collecting dirty water on a patio. Maybe something with a grate or drainage channels ?
-
I’m about to make an outdoor dog wash / shower.... has anyone got any good ideas or examples? I want hot and cold mixer and some kind of draining base... other than this I’m open to further ideas.

This ?

I’ve router the unit down by a couple of mm so the sink is flush with the top of the unit (don’t have to be too careful as you can secure it will silicon if you want. Then I siliconed the sink to the bottom of the work top. (I mean routered where the sink is only... not the whole unit)

There are 2 different issues I think. 1) the short cut tile that he has at the end of a row in the corner is lower than the rest of the row, so will need more adhesive behind it to bring it level. 2) the wall isn’t 100% vertical so the width allowed for tiles to slide into a gap allowed by tiling the adjacent wall gets narrower as you go up the wall.
-
In that case, you really just need a bit more adhesive to pack out those end tiles. Job done.
-
Isn’t that over kill?? Just trim 4mm of the end of the tile. The corner will need a thin bead of silicone anyway so it will cover any discrepancies. Slap em in... it ain’t rocket science. ?
