  1. I can see your lawn mower sitting nicely in there and your garden tools hanging perfectly between the full height windows ?
  2. Just spotted this on eBay, in case anyone needs a spare GMC board for their Carrier/Glowworm/kingspan heat pumps? assuming it’s the right part even. not cheap, but they are getting rare I guess https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143462819274
  3. I think this one is actually a detached 1 bed house. ?
  4. Oh.. as a sensible question, how do you like the screen less shower? Does it end up making the whole room wet?
  5. I like that fact you went to the effort of adding a naked lady but didn’t bother with the bog ?. I bet that sliver of tile above the window pissed you off as it wasn’t in the cad model. still it does look amazing ?. Well worth the wait!!
  6. Which way is it bowing? In or Out is a bit confusing. Are the ends in or the middle? I thought by the photo that it was the opposite of onoffs drawing.
  7. Ffs... ? that’s a more detailed drawing than I had for the complete build of my house.
  8. Oh F it then. It’s perfect ?
  9. Hopefully this isn’t happening in the shower ?
  10. I guess the question is whether you will see it when you are using the shower? There is nothing worse than seeing something that you did not quite right... no one else would notice, but will it be one of those things that pisses you off about the shower? If you just push the fitting against a flat surface does it hide the foam backing (I.e. the chrome bit touches the surface), if not then what you have is how it’s supposed to be anyway.... with a little bit of vertical fettling!
  11. Separate room for the compressor (too noisy in your club house garage) TV points. Wifi or phone sockets for creating a garage network. A seating area with a couple of sofas to sit back and admire all the great work you are going to eventually do on the car on the ramp. Plenty of lighting, including on the walls. Integrated sound system. Draft proof doors and the obvious heating. Shadow board for tools as well as more tool chests then you think you’ll need.... you’ll always use them. Oh, and obviously A massive beer fridge!
  12. I assume you have a fairly new home and / or the stove is over 5kw. So HETAS reg say you need an air vent to ensure you don’t create a vacuum inside the house. The vents size can be calculation from the size of the stove and the air tightness if your home. The shouldn’t be blocked. However they only need to be quite small (maybe a couple of inches for smaller stoves). There are some stoves that come with integrated ventilation so you don’t get the drafts (but that won’t help you). You can get different collars without the vents if it turns out you don’t need the ventilation or have an alternative.
  13. Trim it with snips and poke it in. It will get covered by the grout.
  14. It’s a what would you do exercise? What kind of home would it be, what materials etc? For example you might choose a haybale structure and make it circular around a central courtyard with a pool which you’d use as a thermal store. would it be a tile roof, or a green roof, .. Etc etc If it was just a costing exercise, I’m sure a simple normal house would be easy enough, as every housing develop does it every day. What could be the best home you would choose to do for £100k??
  15. I would challenge wether you could get a Necker Island style home for the £100k budget... even with the 30% contingency. scout camp.. fair enough... might have some cash left over for the toilet tent too!
  16. Not unsurprisingly, very thorough! ... but hopefully resulted in a lot less ‘cleaning’ later. When I got to grouting I always wish I had been more robust in removing any excess and cleaning the adhesive. ... there’s always next time to get it right!
  17. Get digging! I need to see this collection of sheds becoming a home. I can only picture something that America Pickers tv show would visit ?
  18. There’s a lot of it missing on my work!
  19. Haha only just spotted this.
  20. Make sure you wipe the adhesive off the tiles and try to get it out of the grout line too. It will make your job a lot easier later on. Use a damp sponge and just keep rinsing it off.
  21. I wonder how much the temp varies in the house when the sun is out. I have a feeling it would be roasting on a sunny day.
  22. Congratulations! That must have been a fantastic feeling to hear that. Such a weight being removed.
  23. 100m2 caravan! Don’t they have to be on wheels or moveable or something?
  24. Hey, I like the idea of that.. actually thinking outside of the box! Have you seen anything like that done before?
