  1. If this room is underground, why is there the window in the wall on the left? Is that a 2 way mirror for keeping an eye on the ‘guests’?
  2. Letting the water out probably... fills from the bottom up.
  3. How frustrating... but given the general price hikes on lots of materials, and the shortage of timber that people seemed to have suffered from over the last year or so, it’s not overly surprising.
  4. When thinking about windows, I always consider where I can wander about in my pants without scaring neighbours etc. So the big window on the stairs is great for light, but not privacy... plus it’s south facing so will have significant solar gain.
  5. I’ve fitted an iCon fan fairly recently. I’d recommend it. ? One of these: Airflow iCON ECO 15 240V 100mm Extractor Fan Outlet & TM iCON Plug-in Timer Module for 240V Fan https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08JMBP9FM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_BRGSB95KN8QBAX1AA1SE?psc=1 Of course, this is round and your existing extractor is square, so some decorating will be required.
  6. I had the supplier come out to look at mine 3 times for a very similar issue to yours. One time, they wedged a block of wood in the bottom and pushed the top of the door - it flexed back in and aligned much better. The second time, they ‘adjusted’ the bit which the locks connect into (no idea what this part is called, it’s the bit on the frame not the door) by putting a plastic spacer behind it. This did allow the dowel like latches to pull the door in tighter reducing the gap. I think the final time was a bit of token fannying about with it before they said that it was as good as it could get. I did get a partial refund, but I have come to the conclusion that they are just never going to be airtight. Although I will say that the other set without the pedestrian door is much better.
  7. I assume you mean the immersion heater in the actual hot water cylinder... if so, the yes. If you mean the one integrated with the heat pump (seems to be an LG thing), I don’t have one of those.
  8. I have something very similar. The water fall but was a lovely idea but hardly gets used now. The rest of it is just another fiddly thing to clean and get limescaled up. When I replace the shower, or move house, I will go for concealed again (like @Onoff - as it looks so much better). I would also make sure the the wall the valve is on is against a built-in cupboard/wardrobe, so a service hatch can be installed out of sight - for the just in case scenario).
  9. Does not bode well for the house!
  10. Incredible to think this was prime time entertainment back in the day ?
  11. The hole in the wall? Not aligned with the tiling? Is that a second sink in the box? Should there be space for 2 sinks on the wall? Got no idea!
  12. I thought it was Chan Saw...
  13. What’s it supposed to be used for? Opening letters?
  14. You also missed cleaning... especially important if you live in a hard water area. Exposed showers can look skanky pretty quickly.
  15. I was just thinking whether there is a way to do it with only 1 macerator.
  16. Does the Macerator have to be right next to the bog or can you use normal soil pipe from the bog to the macerator which located somewhere else?
  17. F*** me. You really do find a lot of projects to avoid finishing the house don’t you ?
  18. Ah, so in summary.... they’re crap.
  19. Inline limescale reducers... like these I’ve seen them installed from time to time, but always wondered if they were just an excuse to charge more to the client or if they actually do something? Or are they like these magic shower heads that claim they increase the water pressure.
  20. Good point... especially in a dark damp basement !
  21. Haha... no need to wait for that!
  22. Yeah, that kind of thing... you have to try really bloody hard to strip the thread on those, unlike the normal ones that can be over tightened quite easily.
