One of the reasons Ive been inclined to contact vailant on this noise, altho told by installers to get back to them 1st (I have done mostly), is the feeling that altho installers competant -they do nothing but these arotherm installs one after another/ so are good at fitting- they don't seem experienced in the workings. 2 young chaps in 20's, each with a team of even younger trainees = coke bottles to tidy up, grubby walls, grubby carpets etc. I asked what was in the high pressure pipes for eg, "erm.. I think gas is it?". So Im confident if I put these technical points to them, they'd be scratching their heads going thru manuals avoiding reply. The vailant engineer(s) were what you'd hoped turn up: in their 50's, highly pro, very experienced in the workings & if I put these points to them.. they'd have answers (more akin to yourself MJN & ProDave discussing here: impressive knowledge btw). Many thanks for your input- zoot.

Ah understood, but installers fully aware Vailant changed pump. I had to take the reins & call Vailant/ disturbing sleeping isn't something I could wait on installers to stall on. Ok I can call them anyway about this- there are a few things I need tidying up tbh. Hole in outside wall left unfilled, some old wiring near cylinder not properly tucked away. I can also ask on the compressor noise too: if my spare bedroom is unuseable now, that's gotta be an issue itself.

@joe90That pic does my nut in. I can't figure it out, or rather can't figure out how that could be done with my area.
-
@joe90 I'm lost.. dunno where you're referring to exactly with the sketch joe. Isn't Onoff suggesting just nipping off like 1/2" off my front edge of the mdf?
-
@Onoff or did you mean champfer edge, with a chopsaw tilted over? Any idea what these damn mdf ends can be painted with? I put woodpaint on, come back & its dissapeared/ gone back brown again.
-
Ok I suppose.. tho seems a bit odd to me if it no dribbles before the vaillant engineer faffed with it. So, if I were to email my installers.. what to say/ just its dribbling alot, pls fix? (they'll say 'that's to be expected after new pump' I'm sure).
-
@Onoff great that's a plan.. but in practice with a router I can only see the bigger 18mm section getting cut/ the profiley bit just gets left as it. Is that what you had in mind? IE the 45* follow-guide-bearing on the bit will only hit the larger 18mm side.. it'll be above the profiley bit. I think.

Haha! No, I mean Ive been saying repeatedly, that there was a problem (main BIG prob- noise) & it was fixed by Vaillant fitting a new pump (well 1/2 the noise prob fixed, the remainder from the compressor still to be addressed). There was a prob & the installers didn't fix it. I called Vaillant & they fixed it.. then.. it starts doing its big dribbles already. How can I demand the installers back to fix this-?
-
ProDave, did the installer fit the new pump? if not who did?
-
@joe90 joe what do I do here. These 3 skirt bits not glued in yet. Ok I need to edge the front skirt bit w'summink as it looks odd (I can't continue it on into room- too tricky & no more skirt left, both L&R sides so has to end here). i know its a bit of a compromise.. but will have to do. Pic will follow/ edit/ gotta jump onto my flippin ipda.. zootmultiflippintaskhorn.

Thx.. but what a b'stard job boxing these- an utter sod. And I got 2 rooms more of it to do with all the new rads/ pipes mayhem. I know its all going on at once here joe. I can't really cope tbh. Did you find your diy doppleganger? gotta be you, surely.
-
Yes you've paid for it. Now, can you pop over & mend it pls its dribbling?
-
Understood. So if my low pressure issue, & this new issue I didn't even know was an issue until you said so, is connected with the installation of anything -other- than the new pump, I fully take your point that the installers should be those who come back & fix it. But ProDave how can this dribbling -not- be connected to the new pump install, if, it only happened as soon as it was fitted & not before tho? pure coincidence?
-
Didn't pay either! You think the installers should rectify a problem linked to Vaillant fitting the new pump-?

Hi Peter sorry missed this reply.. the innitial install included a hw cylinder yes. Pic for joe Of it coming up..
-
@daiking trouble at mill.. same thing happening in private mode. Last ev the same few secs youtube doc playing.. then 1min wait as it buffers, impossible to use.
-
ProDave- ok that's conclusive as to a problem then thanks. But I'm back to same thing: this only started after new pump Vaillant fitted. Are you referring here to Vaillant as effectively being the installers on this issue then?
-
Straight out the wall joe to the outlet pipe, slight downhill etc.
-
@ProDave ok this is gaining clarity now. Yes Ive seen this black thing, I easily traced the outside outlet pipe back to this thing inside the house.. & since this pump installed notice it drip driping away sometimes even a slight stream. I was told by installers, to expect a bit of water asap after the new system installed 3 months ago. That it did, then settled down after a few days (never ammount I saw a few days ago, a week+ after this new pump fitted tho). I still feel reluctant to ask the installers back, if/ as seems highly probable, its an 'after-issue' directly linked to a new pump a Vaillant engineer's just fitted. But you still think its for the installers to rectify-?
-
Aha! yes of course, if you mean here is the mystery "leak"? Right that makes sense. Its definitely linked to the new pump: I have only seen this excessive water (I assume it is a bit excessive, & not normal) after the new pump fitted. So is it a problem of the innitial installers? surely you can't put this problem in their intray to sort out.
-
This was put forward as a strong possibility, by the installers (who just told me immediately after install that if anything wrong, call them 1st before Vaillant). But this time I'd think calling Vaillant is correct, as they replaced the pump last week. As it costs alot to call (& wait) Vaillant, I emailed installers/ who called back asap & told me how to rejig pressure again: mentioned it was likely linked to the new pump install too, just like you suggest Roundtuit. So surely, its -Vaillant- to come back out (if needed to/ if it recurrs), not installers. And so, they'd be coming out to fix a fault of their system, not of any incorrect work the installers did.
-
@ProDave if there are no water leaks, there is no leak in the pipework. A leak is easy to spot. I don't find any water leaks. So, if the system is losing pressure, & there are no leaks, & I have to keep jigging the taps to increace pressure, then -something- is wrong with it. The only other thing that can be leaking is air. I was told by installers that after a new pump is installed, then it might well be the cause of this pressure drop after 2 weeks. If this is the case, & Vaillant installed the new pump, bc of a faulty one, then you cannot expect the installers to come back to rectify anything ascociated with this new install. It just doesn't figure. I also notice an excess of water coming out of the outlet pipe outside, from the cylinder, only after this new pump is installed. Now if this isn't correct/ if this is a minor fault too/ then again: I can link this water spill to the pump install, & Vaillant changed the pump due to their poor hardware, therfore I just wouldn't expect the installers to have to come out & fix this too if they didn't install it.
-
Ok understood- so we agree there's a fault, but your point is its the installers rather than the system/ ok I get this, but its a situation they continually have to either guide users thru on the phone, or, ideally they have to come back & fix time after time which they shouldn't be doing. I was told 'air' was likely the reason this time & again told to let in water for 20 secs & watch guage dial etc. A leak, or trapped I don't know. But if its recurring then I maintain its just the way the system 'is' & not the fault of the innitial installers. If I had the vaillant engineer out to change the pump only a week ago, & if this is linked to that (told yes prolly) I maintain this should be for Vaillant to rectify, not the innitial installers. Anyway I guess I'll just have to do this each month. Can we at least agree that this isn't ideal & not something a user should be expected to be repeatedly doing?
