  1. I think I read somewhere that it was smaller, and cheaper to run, than Birmingham council. Though I do agree that moving every month is a bit bonkers, but then our politicians generally go 'back home' every week. Say it costs £200 quid each, that is over £6m/year, and that is before moving staff/security about. I really think that is a distraction.
  2. We have not seen the problems caused by restrictive trade yet.
  3. So we have the perfect outcome. Well done 'Leave'. You are the winners, now what is the prize, oh, a smaller economy and more expensive trade. oh and i did not say we keep voting ad infinitum, just that the lies Brexiteers peddled have been exposed. That should spark concern to anyone that wants sovereignty, being governed by crooks, cheaters and untrustworthy people never ends well. You will have to go back a few pages to see my ideas on voting reform. But as i said, not relevant as we have voted.
  4. An ESP has a built in power saving function i believe. I really need to set up a network at home ans have a play with them again. They have been gathering dust for 2 years.
  5. That goes back to my voting reform, not that it is relavant. If you have a binary question, then realistically you need to have an overall majority. We have seen what has happened when you don't, not even a single party in power can agree. We should really rerun it, then we will all be better off.
  6. Yes, I was covered in dust and blinded.
  7. Just taking the "The Government's Brexit Contract with the British People" at face value. Are you saying that all contracts can now be broken, quick way to pay of a mortgage, or get out of a marriage. I still think that remainers where more realistic and could see the downfalls.
  8. Can someone explain, why, after the event, claiming that being on the winning side, is justification for the decisions they made. I was a bit drunk once and ran over a cat, my girlfriend said 'I knew that would happen'. How could she have know? It is a bollocks justification. And, why do leavers not change their minds and think they made a mistake. I like Gary Glitter when I was young. Still hum along to his tunes. But not allowed to claim he made a major contribution to British culture.
  9. So you don't have a problem with unrepresentative democracy then. That's fair, but I do have a problem with it.
  10. And that is the problem. If we, as a nation, don't vote, we can't have influence. I think that deep down, the British voter thinks their vote counts for nothing That needs to change.
  11. Covered in grit at moment
  12. The EU parliamentary elections. How Farage got there.
  13. Yes. It is a problem with the electorial system. I did suggest an alternative system, but no one had taken me up on it. In our usual system, we can elect a government with less than 50% if votes cast. Same in US, how they got Trump and not Clinton.
  14. Because, when people say 'the majority voted to leave', it is not true. All that happened is the majority of people who bothered to vote, got the mandate. But you cannot truly govern without consent, and I don't think there is consent on leaving Europe. Was what? You say you are not niece, but where are your reasons, and the policies you agree with.
  15. I got so much dust on me at the moment, I suspect my hair looks like his. But more seriously, this is what happens when we do not have representative democracy.
  16. I was under the impression that brexiteers were the majority If you count the number of people that voted leave, and compared it the number that voted remain, plus the non-voters, then the minority 'won'. It is too easy to forget that a decision like this affected the disenfranchised. I am quite happy to let all the remain voters work and pay tax to pay for me to wallow in collective self pity. Seems fair that the 'victors' should do all the work, it is what they wanted.
  17. No one likes to admit they have been suckered. What amazes me is that half the coverage was pointing this out to them. I think, that all Brexiteer should be forced to go to work in the bright new future they have created, while the rest of us (the majority) can live off the generous state benefits that immigrants allegedly claim when they get here. Won't take long selling fish and Toyota to pay for it all, will it. Seems fair to me.
  18. One of the best cars I ever had. Took me ages to realise it only has 3 cylinders.
  19. @PeterStarck Exactly, and as temperature differences increases, the energy usage goes up exponentially, confusing things even more. One of the reasons that just my space heating load is tiny. Take today, the sun is flooding in, washing on the line and I am sanding woodwork. All very comfortable. But if I had to tumble the washing, and was sitting down in the gloom, my energy usage would go up.
  20. What made me think about it, and taking the piss out of other members.

  23. There is a place called WorkBox in town, nice view over the harbour. Think it is £110/month, and free coffee. I was going to join, but I did not have an Apple product in my portfolio, or a disruptive technology that any fool could do. Or a beard. https://theworkbox.com/ Cheap than some garden sheds though.
  24. I can't see it, so you are safe there.
