Rockwool 0.032W/m.K batts....coming soon apparently

That is where it is then. But eyesight, or fat fingers. -

9% per metre, not at 150mm. But my mental arithmetic may be wrong as doing something else at moment. R = 0.15 (m) / 0.035 (k) R = 4.286 U = 1 / 4.286 U = 0.233 R = 0.15 (m) / 0.032 (k) R = 4.288 U = 1 / 4.288 U = 0.233 Is that right? -

Is that really enough of a difference. 0.02W.m-2.K-1 on a 150mm of insulation. That is lost in noise and fitting errors. -
Send them an email. If you get a reply, tell them I am available.

If all the numbers, rather than the units, add up, then probably a twat programmer doing the user interface. Had one do one for for a mate, did the classic kW/h on the y-axis. No matter how much we tried to convince him it was wrong, he would not accept it as his mistake.

Why do we make it so much harder than it needs to be.

I got the posh one with the optical counter.

Thought this was going to be about my vanishing, government backed, pension.

Count the pulsed. And you may want to get some of these. My next project. No idea how to turn the image over on a phone. Shall see if I can put it right in PC. Hopefully sorted.

I think this goes back to cable losses. The generation meter had to be within a fixed distance if the main meter. It is a decade since I was involved in all this, so memory may be failing.
-
Traditionally it wasn't. Why the FiT system originally used 50% of total generation as the "deemed" export amount. I think most smart meters do now show exports. Assuming the use of a couple of dumb meters though, you can sense the permanently on LED that shows the main meter is working in reverse. Then read the pulsed in the generation meter, assuming no local load, or fit a third meter on the incoming tails to measure exports. As far as I know, dumb meters allow flow in both directions, but only log in one direction.

Do you know your heat load for each room? Always worth getting the thermal model done first.

Good stuff. Mine disconnecting may just have been an issue from moving it to the front of the house and then giggling it about as I tried to make room for it on a table. Quick check just now and it is fine.

Get the unit readings off the meter, then it is simple to check. Have you spoken to any neighbours yet, you may all find you are in the same boat and all want to do something about it.- 38 replies

Get insulating. You may be better off with a single rate tariff. Hunt around and see what is available, your night rate is doing nothing for you, except crippling your day rate.- 38 replies

Why when vertical, I tend to sit down at home. Not that it really matters as it is just a case of adding on a °C or whatever.
-
Well I managed to log in this morning no problems, so maybe just a glitch. If it happens again, I shall up the voltage 1 unit (0.025V). I am not hoping to get some weather to see what is happening, though this is a long term project.

Apparently, the Camborne Tesco is built the wrong way around, though I suspect it is the way that Tesco wanted it. It does seem strange that the entrance is as far from the road as one can get, so not good for pedestrians, and one has to drive past the store twice to get to the car parking. Deliveries are easy though, straight of main road and into the yard.

SteamyTea replied to Richvet's topic in Underfloor Heating
I appreciate that, just that your usage does not seem excessive, on a kWh/m2 floor area metric, it is a lot less than mine (my place is 50m2, and terraced). Could you put in a thermal store and charge it at night? It will be heavy, and large, but a possibility.- 38 replies
