Odd.

But you sing sweeter than the young Aled Jones.

Will have to open the windows to let the fumes out, but at least the carpet will be blown clean. Reminds me of the racing harness in my old Golf. I can tell you that after an 80MPH shunt, a quick death would have been preferable. The todger may be safe, but the nads ain't.

How about a set of these. Great fun afterwards as well.

Most of my parent's cash speculated, with good advice, into RBS shares. The court cases are still ongoing. Must check up what is happening. My biggest problem is that I have to deal with my Sister, who not only has Power of Attorney and has set up joint accounts with my Mother, and, though she once worked for Lloyds and HFC (who remembers that American 'disrupter' bank), seems to trust bad advice, thinks that 'hackers' don't exist (found a key logger program on my Mother's PC) and you will always get your money back, even if you email all the personal and bank details to a stranger. If only I could PGP my Sister, put her in safe storage and only allow her out under secure supervision. I did raise my concerns with the solicitor that was dealing with the transaction, and I do think he actually called her to confirm the detail, rather than just trust the emails. Still not sure what I can actually do, except plead, to be sensible and prudent.

I looked at this product myself but couldn't find third party verification/certification of the claimed conductivity. At 10mm thickness, it has a U-Value of 0.32 W.m-2.K-1 You can buy a bag of Aerosil and make your own. https://www.silmid.com/specialties/fillers-thickeners/Aerosil-300-Hydrophilic-Fumed-Silica-Flour-10Kg-Bag/

Tends to be my views, and generally, the more trouble a bank is in, the better the saving rates. I got 6% on my Santander and Barclays current account in 2007/8. Dead Ringers did a nice sketch about Paul Lewis on Friday.

That is the type of thing that a new user needs to know. Do you have a link to more details? -
Plumber put together a thing … and I have concerns
SteamyTea replied to mjsx's topic in Boilers & Hot Water Tanks
I think we may be at cross purposes here. If it was my project, and the builder was the PM, I would ask him to report it. If he failed to do so, then I would report it. No point shooting first then asking the dead questions. -
Thanks, I missed Moneybox yesterday, but knowing that my Sister is also a R4 listener, I shall send her the links. Who would have thought having too much money causes problems. Even with my limited knowledge, it seemed to me that I was explaining the options better than the advisor. When we all met up in 2006 to sign this trust thing, it was very theatrical, fake sincerity and too many long faces. No one had actually died, but those (expletive deleted)ers walked off with a few thousand each.

Plumber put together a thing … and I have concerns
SteamyTea replied to mjsx's topic in Boilers & Hot Water Tanks
Not after a concern has been raised (this is assuming that the builder, in this instance, is also the PM). The buck may well stop with e plumber, but, for instance, if I am on a bus that has brake failure, I don't find the person that serviced the bus, I raise the problem with the bus company. -
Having just sold my Mother's house to pay for her care, what is the best, but safest way to look after a substantial amount of money. I know £85k can safely be put into a bank account, but seem to remember that the banks must be separate companies i.e. Lloyds and Barclays, not Lloyds and TSB. Is there a list for this. As we have no idea how long we will be paying this for, but do know the costs, a combination of easy access, 90 day access and longer term is viable. Just to complicate matters, we have a Family Trust that was set up around 2006/7. Half of it is in my Father's name, and he dies in 2014. That side seems fairly simple, just put the maximum in it, but is it possible to have a combination of cash and assets (which may go up or down in value). I assume that we do a similar thing with my Mother's 'half' of the sales proceeds. The company we deal with suggests we meet up and have a chat about it, but so far every chat with them has been a sales meeting, so rather skewed to their, and I have this term, products. Thanks in advance.

ASHP, how to decide - I just don't get it!

Almost. The wet side is basic. The controllers can cause problems, especially if the end user does not have the correct access codes. -
I have this one from Wickes. https://www.wickes.co.uk/Werner-Aluminium-12-in-1-Multi-Purpose-Ladder-with-Platform/p/250167 The stabilisers, like a kids bike, can be removed, and I have long ago lost the platform insert. It is heavy, but that makes it flex less, which is nice, none of that leg shaking vibration. Have had it over 20 years, think I got it in a sale for £25. As if folds up small, it fits in the boot of a small car. My stairwell is similar to yours, I stand on the banister when I paint the top corner. Put some grippy shoes on, one hand on the wall for triangulation, and make sure the paint tray is in reach of the other hand. (caveat, like @joe90, we have both done rock climbing, so are pretty confident, but cautious about it, and we don't put our fairy dancing shoes on).

Seriously? His builder will be shitting air-bricks, and will instantly revert to a state of self-preservation. He will not be a wise choice for an ambassador for this?!? I think that really depends on who is the Project Manager. Quite simply, if something that is potentially dangerous has been done, reported to the PM, and then the correct course of action is not done, then you do not want that PM there. There has to be professionalism, it is business, not a lover's tiff. -
I must have been a bit dumb as I never thought of looking for a 12V Lap top charger. I usually use my Kindle which in 5V and therefore easy to charge.
-
Ruined, or just emptied. Has anyone ran a laptop off one, does the laptop charge behaviour with what I assume is a square wave output.
-
80% of very little, does not bother me. If my new laptop takes 35W, then 2.8W on top is neither here nor there. My old laptop, when the battery worked, took 8W. Must measure them both and start to use the one with the least power the most.

£3 each as Poundstretcher in PZ is closing down. Now I can go off grid. Anyone used these types before?

Plumber put together a thing … and I have concerns
SteamyTea replied to mjsx's topic in Boilers & Hot Water Tanks
Would @mjsx be better off getting his builder to report it, because I suppose it really depends who was managing the work. To me it sounds like @mjsx has nothing to loose by not reporting it pronto. -
And ESP8266/32s. But not, annoyingly, in the RPi, but that is for historical reasons, not technical ones.

What actually happens when this sort of thing is reported? Do big wigs come around quickly and do an assessment, or just send a second class letter to the tradesman responsible? It is not knowing the processes that puts many people off doing the right thing, it is why we turn a blind eye to too many misdemeanors in life. -
You don't need to take cable resistance into account and you do not need a ADC.
-
If it is for a recirculating DHW system, but you feel that what you have is fine, save the cash, and maybe look for a better communicating plumber.
