Yes it does look like chopped strand mat. -
Leaky “new” roof might be the last straw

Different emissivity value maybe? Does amaze me that amateur 'inventor' can prove, with a thermometer, that the well established laws of thermodynamics are wrong. Temperature is not energy.

You can treat glass with a silane and alcohol solution to help it bond. It may need a bit more to make it further weather proof for the next ten years though. More details will be needed before a creative solution is thought up. -
There may be a newer version. https://forum.buildhub.org.uk/topic/439-fabric-and-ventilation-heat-loss-calculator/

How much do drywall screws impact insulation value of a wall?

We used to stick the caravan roofs on with double sided tape. Was good stuff. -
How much do drywall screws impact insulation value of a wall?
SteamyTea replied to nostos156's topic in Heat Insulation
Stainless steel has a thermal conductivity of about a third of regular carbon steel. About 15 W/m.K. Nylon 6 is about 0.25 W/m.K. Basalt wall ties are around 0.7 W/m.K. -
That comes down to how you want to measure it. Think insulation can look fantastic when expressed as a percentage.

Was it exceptionally rainy today? If so, could it be caused by a failure somewhere else i.e. gutter. There should not be a great deal of difference between your system and a GRP system as they are both reinforced resin systems. -
Is it an interactive spreadsheet i.e. useful to others, or just a final statement of what you intend to do?

I use Lumberjack PU adhesive, but at a tenner a tube, it would be cheaper to buy some 18mm OSB.

I think £5000 is reasonable. I will have a few spare hours once I get the first coat of gloss on my window frames. Have you looked for a copy of BRE 497?

Combining 3 phase and 1 phase systems?
SteamyTea replied to Lemna gibba's topic in Photovoltaics (PV)
The PV generation meter is separate to the supply meter. But I suspect you are right that the don't want the hassle. -
We have discussed it on here. https://forum.buildhub.org.uk/topic/33386-thermal-bridging-psi-values-for-isotex/#comment-491162

Combining 3 phase and 1 phase systems?
SteamyTea replied to Lemna gibba's topic in Photovoltaics (PV)
You would have to check the specifications of the inverts. There should not be any reason, other than capacity limits, why you cannot have a 3 phase system and then add another 1 phase system. That is how microinverters work together after all. You will need 3 phase net metering or you run the risk of some power going down the line without being paid for. The FiT system allows for upgrades, as it can take additional generation into account, and subtract it. -
Heat Pumps: What They Really Mean For You - BBC1 8pm today
SteamyTea replied to MAB's topic in Property TV Programmes
Yesterday I posted up a link to PM and how Lord Haughty said that ASHP don't work. Well Evan Davis was on the WatO saying they had so many calls they are doing a bit more on it tonight. So Radio 4 at 5PM. Listen to Ed Reardon instead. Pippa Hayward is on it. -
I shall have a look at what my spreadsheet churns out when I get some time. Pulling kitchen part at the moment, been years since it was properly decorated.

What heat pump you got and how large is your PV now? I have a spreadsheet that needs more data.

It shouldn't. While water is often the blowing agent for PU resins, the oxygen gets stripped of the two hydrogen atoms. The free oxygen and hydrogen atoms then combine with carbon atoms that have a free electron. Then you get a mix of CO, CO2 and CH4. Why you are told to keep the area well ventilated. Thermoplastics use hydrazine, much more fun.
