  1. Yes, as I said, incompetence by both.
  2. Isn't the landlord bashing an unforeseen consequence, rather than a political will, never look for malice when incompetence will explain it better.
  3. Ewww A left handed typist
  4. It is to do with having a mobile workforce, something that the UK has not been very good at. Partly why there are a lot of motorhomes in the London suburbs, they would not be your first choice of city driving vehicle. I suspect that the LEZ is forcing them further from the centre.
  5. He has already promised it to me.
  6. Welcome. Which areas are you interested in and what skills do you already have?
  7. How about buying in from Thames Water. Oh, hang on. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-66039170
  8. Is there any reason a person, who has no connection to the building i.e. me, can write to the local authority planning department and ask for clarification on decisions?
  9. I can't answer it, and a sales person would just say it is not a problem.
  10. Are there any special rules applied to long, exposed, DC runs? Generally considered more dangerous than AC. Maybe a RDCDD fitted (a DC RCD).
  11. I know you are not going MCS, but I think they specify a 1% volt drop. This is because of metering, so may well be a more general rule by DNOs.
  12. And their earnings. Can't really have a recession without wages dropping.
  13. Welcome Gusty. Probably marginal where you are. But as @JohnMo says, in a new place where you want to get ACH below 1, then as a fraction of the whole, it seems to make sense. As for noise, the bigger they are, the more they will vibrate when hit by rain, especially wind driven rain.
  14. Old Mike Lloyd, over at the other place, had his ground mounted array 40 metres or so from his inverter. The DC cabling was standard 4mm. Seem to remember that the voltage drop was not too bad.
  15. Could be worse, they could play Radio 1 loudly. Or worse, local radio.
  16. How is an inverter going to charge the battery, or are you talking about hydrid ones that can manage your battery charging and PV?
  17. Ah yes, Scoucer stands.
  18. Stop being a (expletive deleted). 10 kWh at up to 3.6 kW. I think what you are after is a smarter charge controller, not a new inverter.
  19. Steca used to do a system 2kW system that you can add extra 2 kW slave units to. And they kicked in at a low voltage, 80V I think. You may be able to do things with micro inverters as well.
  20. Can raise the roof with one of those.
  21. Probably. Still, make for a good woodstore, only sustainable carbon dioxide to kill you.
  22. Why I am asking the question. Seem to remember that too many people have died from gas poisoning in them. Seems they are, but surrounded with more rules than safety guards. https://inspectionpits.co.uk/hs-guidelines-for-inspection-pits/
  23. What are you measuring mass flow rate against? A dial position, a linear scale, a numerical display, or the power to run the fan? I think the power is the cube root of the mass flow rate.
  24. Are they still allowed?
  25. I thought we voted to leave Europe because we think everyone else is inferior.
