Post a link to the one you can get for £80, as there are different heights and variants. I’ve been fitting Geberit for nearly 25 years, with not so much as a murmur. Fantastic quality and unmatched longevity. Recently installed some Roca ones, very difficult to work on to access internal gubbings 👎

They are required regardless of EVC now as part of BS7671 in all new installations and boards - which is why almost all consumer units now come loaded with one.

If its just rainwater, with no stench, then just drop the downpipe so its below grade and fit it into a rubber bung in a 110mm bend.

You either need a pump to ‘suck’ through a traditional TMV, or to get an ESBE motorised mixer to run off the heat pump. You never see the TMV after a pump, as it needs the recirculating water to function / reference the temp of the water in the loops. If you're having a TMV for Justin, you'll need to leave the manifold as-is.

It’s the underlay for sure. You need to swap it out for the EPS, and put that over a light membrane. It’s absorbing moisture and sweating.

So, UFH fed from ASHP, my design flow rates are approx 17l/m. The internal pump on the Grant can do 20l/m. I don't mind straying from the schematic. So, if I remove the pump and mixing valve from the manifold, then pipe straight into the UFH. In the plant room I'll have the auto bypass and then the two port valve for the UFH zone. Can I locate a blending valve in the plant room, or does this need to be situated close to the manifold?

Meanwhile, back in the real world… Perhaps this happens with a very small amount of equipment fitted on the premises of big corporations, but I guarantee you it does not in the case of 99.99999% of domestics, even though it might be a good idea! It’ll get fixed when it breaks. If the terminal has been correctly torqued, it pretty unlikely it will come loose. I don’t fit loads of these, but I do fit 1 or 2 a month. Mostly Hypervolt and Andersen. I’m not aware of either of those requiring any servicing to maintain the warranty, or even suggesting it at all.

If your planning permission switches on additional requirements in Part M - access for the disabled M4(3) requires space for a lift to be installed and/or dedicated sockets for a potential stair lift. Originally the building regulations set a basic standard for health and safety of persons within and around the building. Most people could see the sense in requiring properly built buildings that were structurally safe, weathertight with decent drainage. Then conserving energy was added, then electrical safety, and then it all went to pot when internet connectivity, electric car charging etc were added. By then the original purpose of the regulations had been subsumed into using them to carry out policy decisions of the government of the day.

Update: the standard to look for is BS EN 13618:2016. But still plan on replacing them at regular intervals.
