So we had some splashes/drips of PVA showing through the mist coat on our plaster. I scraped the surface PVA off, then treated the plaster with Zinsser 123. Now our F&B modern emulsion has been rejected by the primer (see photo) leaving excellent sploges over the wall. In other painting news, our flooring contractor managed to spray floor primer onto the bottom of some of our mist coated walls from his roller (See Pic). Now it becomes apparent that our paint won't cover this either and we have some nice blue dots showing through the paint. One step forwards, and two steps back is wearing thin after 3.5 years of continuous shit snorkling.

And this is another great example of tick box BS. Permeable paving is utter bollocks. For exactly the reasons you state. A few years down the line and its no better than regular block paving. Now its just awash with huge puddles when it rains, and the rest just runs off onto the road, the fields, wherever it finds a route. So flooding will continue to increase. So our flooring contractor has managed to pour floor levelling compound down one of our drains ! We have a rain water drain that is completely blocked at the u-bend. Other parts of the drain had deposits. Is there any way we might be able to unblock the rain water drain ? Some kind of solvent or acid ? Plumber cleared some from the vertical part of the drain using a very long drill bit, but clearly won't go around a bend. Drain pipe is clay. Levelling compound is Bostik C530 which has fibre reinforcement.

You sure about the pea gravel? That gets blocked up pretty quickly. I always use 40mm stone round my drains.Which is what im led to believe is the right way. In my experience the perforated 100mm drainage products are all much of a muchness.

I went that route by allowing a BC inspection and also detailing how I met the regs and manufacturer’s requirements. About a 6-page doc with drawings, photos during installation, test results etc. Getting anybody to certify after the fact will be hard - nobody wants the liability of someone else’s potentially dodgy work. If you bought recently your solicitor should have been on top of this.

I would look at coanda supply and extract terminals, they will push air across the ceiling/room, and extract will suck air across the room, so makes placement way easier and duct runs way easier. External insulation will offer zilch in terms of airtightness, if you have a cavity.

In response to the above: 1) Alas, i don't think there is an existing HETAS certificate - the previous owner did a self-install (single flue pipe through breeze block wall). Although the outbuilding strictly doesn't need it (as it's not subject to B Regs,), i wanted to obtain one, from an insurance point of view (if the unthinkable happened, and i needed to claim) 2) Agreed, i was planning on using a HETAS certified company/person to undertake this. However, to save on cost i wanted to build up the fireplace & let them just sort the stove/flue. As part of this, i was hoping they could certify the fireplace during the install. If i did the install myself then i'd need BC to sign it off (i guess)< as i can't find any companies that specialise in inspection/approval 🤷‍♂️

Why not use a thicker board 25mm and carve the back out to match the stone work.

Just to eliminate the obvious when you've encountered this issue have you rebooted both the router and your phone/device?

B&Q Spacepro brand. MIs say 2260 is the frame height, width 3m. So my opening is 2270 at one side 2280 at the other. How do I do this? Was thinking a bit of 19mm planed timber attached to ceiling and plane it to remove the extra 10mm? Will it bend enough? Thoughts welcome... Floor is square, ceiling has been plastered after a leak and I reckon its the ceiling that's off-sloped. Plan A is to cut a timber to 2260 then mark out the gap every 150mm or so across the 3m opening

Final follow up on this L9 error: it was not (really) the flow sensor or the kinked up flexis, but a load of limescale build up in the ASHP heat exchanger. Full write up in new thread:

OK early signs are (very) promising! the "bucket test" delivered 24 l/min, and I've refilled the system (adding a bottle of F1) and it's now doing a DHW cycle at 16 l/min. Still not quite where I'd like it to be, but far better than the 10 l/min or less it's been hobbling by on for the last 24 months .... Interesting... I'd always thought using such occasions as an opportunity to flush out the crap and refill with clean. But yes, or course ... if scale is the problem refilling it is introducing a whole load more calcium carbonate ontop of what's already built up. I guess running the drain off through a fine filter would help sift off the worst of the mess coming out. Challenge is where to put the 100l of water when temporarily draining down the system ... although in most cases I can isolate the volumizing tank and leave the UFH loops untouched, so probably a quite doable. I'll read the heatgeek page and ponder how to attack this next time I do some service on it. Hmmmm . Proving tricky ! After a lot of talking we have a “ Avalon “ wake word with pretty good success . But radio on etc not so great . Trying to access lms streams and use that to filter my speech from radio not producing good enough results . Also depends where I am in the room - we use direction of speech to aid if I said or radio said it . Solution seems be another uma8 placed on the opposite side of the room ….
