I've had a cold water store in the loft for the 35 years we have been in this house - I've never found anything in it except for a little bit of sand and limescale - am I alone in feeling left out of this joyous discovery?

My plan is to do a 10bar pressure test with deionised water for 1 hour and then violently vent it so that there is a good flow rate through that lower section. If it passes that, then all good in my eyes. Deionised water may help to dissolve some of the crud, if not no worries.

Can't remember ins and outs contacted them after a few rows. Supplier said to crack on will straighten out. Didn't straighten out, ended up refunding me for the whole lot and then some as I remember.

Yes you can. I would thoroughly recommend you get help from a local installer. We did, we are lucky enough to have a really great guy who went through our design in detail in return for us buying all the bits from him. I probably could have got the bits cheaper on t’internet but the difference was a small price to pay. Not sure you want to attach the liner directly to the register plate mind…

Fitted quickstep here, really easy DIY job. As everyone has said, follow the expansion gap instructions to the letter. I undercut the skirting to keep an expansion gap and clean lines. I didn't want to undercut a tall kitchen panel and cut the plank with a 2mm gap to look good, inevitably that's the one point that made contact in the latest heatwave and that gap needs increasing.

Nothing really. So zero impact. Will likely wash out, after x number of litres has flowed through it / over time. People are bathing in dead pigeon / marinated mouse water every day, if they have cold water storage tanks in their attics, and to the best of my knowledge these folk simply enjoy ignorant bliss; none have sprouted feathers or grown tails, I am reliably informed….

Its your area but even then you may never have see these sheds. In the countryside some old barns that became industrial and have never been maintained. Near stations, the roads nearby have generally been upgraded but try round the tail ends.

By constant we have a 6kW inverter and it will provide the house with all power 95+% of the time, which means no expensive imports when battery is supplies the house, is great for exports also. So we can heat the house and cook the tea at the same time if we want.

That should be a warning about Axle. It won't, and some people are going to loose their cash.

A large inverter will likely have higher overheads/losses at lower loads: probably don't size to cover your biggest load, but maybe 95% of the time. I have what is now a quite weedy inverter (~1.25kW, 6kWh) but only import/leak ~0.3kWh/d in summer, in part because low overnight loads are covered effectively.

That’s an awful lot of effort, have you considered an exposed twin wall flue? I chose this over a chimney as I prefer the simplicity and preserve the room volume. Also much better airflow around the stove.

Normally agree however this can’t last. Axle are winning some bids at less than 30p/kWh and paying us £1. They have funding to prove the concept and get people on board. Eventually the rate they pay will fall in line with other companies variable export rates.

I suspect it's 127.5 at least then 255 makes some sense as it's 2 x 127.5 but apart from that who knows whats going on? Good question. Well phrased. Deserves an answer! As you seem to be located in the land of Brink manufacture, could you go and knock on their door and ask them to explain themselves. As far as I'm concerned the frequent flipping from 0 to 128 to 255 and back again is completely abnormal behaviour and must be some kind of software glitch. At this time of year I wouldn't expect to see the bypass move at all so even the early trace of 1 to 0 and back again strikes me as odd.

From the facebook group, 90% of people with issues with this have a sigenergy inverter/battery. But it seems (well) less than 50% of sigenergy users actually hit that problem. I'm on SolatEdge and it's been rock solid. (Wish i could say the same for my attempts to take control of the inverter battery management locally via modbus. On paper that's a more robust setup, in practice SolarEdge just don't support it well - and seem likely to further cripple this in future)

Yes, on one occasion, but with the evidence of future events it may well have been that I just wasn't giving the inverter sufficient time to revert, for some reason the settings don't revert straight away when the Axle event is finished - at least for me. I now set a reminder for 15 mins after the event has finished and check the inverter settings then, all's been fine since.
