Just saw your note re pricing - if you're after something which is under 4 figures, then the strong suggestion would be to go for wireless only, and with integrated keypad/panel/sounder etc. Fewer devices = Lower cost. It does mean changing batteries every year, but it's not that much - usually under £5 for each sensor as long as you can do it yourself. Wired systems will be more expensive due to the higher labour cost plus the marginal cost of wiring etc to be run.

It hasn't been installed yet - I've only just had the first fix cabling done at the start of this week and 2nd fix won't happen until August, once internal plastering/decorating is largely done. I've also gone for a separate control panel (where all the cables terminate) and keypad (by the utility door) - so they're not integrated with each other, though I have to admit I wasn't aware that there were issues with the integrated version. Went with the installer recommendation and the main discussion I had with him was around the number and placement of all the sensors/door contacts/PIRs. We've gone for a system that allows us to either do a 'full set' with all PIRs activated, or a night mode 'perimeter set' which keeps the door and window sensors active but de-activates the internal PIRs, allowing you to roam around inside the house.

Yeah chat frequently has issues with file uploads. So a zip or the actual source it still guesses!. Even a single file it ignores evidence. Its like going back to 5.1 - everything is hard and difficult. The actual patch I need is simple. It may have nothing to do with the behaviour you're experiencing and your codebase is probably pretty large, but I had problems with transfers of files within a zip container. Transferring individually solved the problem for me. Yes, I've been offered unlimited use of Fable 5 until 22nd June and then the charging begins. It's going to burn through a lot of tokens. Frankly, I can do almost everything using Sonnet 4.6 so relatively frugal.

Seems a waste of a perfectly good nuke - all they will need to do is provide a few strong streams of water and play them on your build - pretty soon your life will be consumed with finding and fixing leaks leaving no time for chat! On another matter I see that Claude has released Mythos (well a slightly cut down version) to the general public - that might improve things for you although I strongly suspect you will quickly exhaust its patience - and yours along with its capabilities....

Hey @Indy - how did the Orisec turn out (if you've had it installed and don't mind me asking)? Was the installation and day-to-day operation a breeze? On AI tool really rates them, and says they are DIY friendly. The other AI i tried says they're deeply unreliable. In fact, the more i delve into the murky depths of AI the more i spot occurrences of it contradicting itself when you rephrase the Q 🫠 I'm thinking the Orisec might be the one for us - though i'd want the version without the integrated keypad in the panel

Yeah, i think they might be a little too rich for our blood The few kits i've seen only start around £600 and go a few £100 upwards from there 🤑 We obviously want a reliable piece of kit, but we don't like in Buck Palace, or an area renowned for high number of break-ins

Hi, Sorry only just looked on BH. been in 'the trenches'! Honestly, i don't think our bc could care less what we do at the pond, he's made no mention of any of it. We're quite happy with that though! We have read about having a headwall and do intend to put something in that will stop any erosion of under the outlet as makes sense to us to do that. I don't think it needs to be too extensive, just a small brick or block 'wall' type affair, with the pipe set into a concrete pad directly under the pipe so it can sit snugly. Regards the regs for it, I cant say i remember reading anything but, you could always ask your BcO to ref the docs for it as he seems so set on it! Drainage is certainly a minefield though!

My existing timber decking's joist got chewed up by rats and it's time to get this area sorted. The DPC looks to be a couple of courses below the rear door opening which, now the decking has been removed is where the old patio was. I'm aware I shouldn't really be building externally above the DPC level, however if I install an ACO drain, the full width of the patio against the house would this suffice, and allow me to safely raise the patio level to near internal FFL? could even step away the ACO by 50mm or so if needed.

The top layer does a few things a very important one is stopping runny concrete getting under the sheets and floating it up, which would be a bloody nightmare. for £20 install it.

Great write up! On my to do list ia find a way of both buttons doing a full flush, and ensuring the full flush is indeed a FULL one. Young kids means they only press the button once/lightly/at random, and the waste never fully goes.
