  1. Past hour
  2. Was it sloping, so needed to be below ground <1m at the boundary? Odd that no detail exists from their fees proposal at least?
  3. You’re never alone, just everyone looking at this is like folk watching a rollercoaster; but the thing needs to slow down or stop so we can get on, 🤣. I’m bat-shit crazy with work coming in from every angle, so have just been a spectator between glasses of Sauvignon. Hic.
  4. Today
  5. You're back! My loneliness is over!
  6. You're not feeling lonely are you? I've been away and then just too busy with other distractions! I think I might have hinted at this one a while ago, but you were single track on ChatGPT plus a few other local models to listen at the time. Where have you been? 😉 All looks (expletive deleted)ing awesome I have to say. I've just been sorting the workflow with Claude Sonnet 5 and then Claude Code and now I'm genuinely not having to look at code any more either, just copy & paste the prompts and off we go. Did 2 days of coding and not a single bug from the new code - it just highlighted bugs in the existing code, but solved so easily, even if Claude did tie itself in knots because it forgot to read and obey my dev principles instructions - but it realised and apologised for this.. It continuously blows me away. I'm beginning to create a list of ideas for things to build, but Claude code then tells me off for not staying focused on what we're doing. I get it. I've spent my life doing what others thought were stupid projects just because I thought they'd be interesting and fun and I wanted to see where they'd take me. No need for any other reason IMHO.
  7. Was there anything at all in the appeal decision that might help you next time? (Although I think the overall picture is pretty clear!) Anything that countered the council's points? I'd lose the garage, so you can make the house itself a bit wider but with the front door side subservient to the double height bay. You could go into the pre app with two versions having the same footprint, one modern the other traditional. Then point out how much you've listened and reduced the bulk and give the planners a decision to make about the design
  8. yes that sums it up exactly. I watched it with no audio and even with subtitles it made little sense - so just like my project. Only the select few get it.
  9. Good questions. A soak away draining too quickly can be more easily mitigated than one that drains too slow, the too slow causes problems. Often you just need to understand the ground composition, then adapt the design a bit.
  10. I think you need to get in touch with the people who did the tests and ask why they decided on 1.8m.
  11. Interesting question. The one metre depth may actually be to do with health and safety in terms of accessing an excavation without support. If your house is on a slope, on a hillock then we don't want the water just running out further down, especially if it is from a septic tank for example. Sometimes it works to sit a soakaway deeper, for example there is a gravel layer a bit deeper down that can accept a bit of extra water. There is a trade off in that the excavation is deeper thus more cost.. but in a good gravel layer the soak away can be less extensive. What you mention 1.8m depth seems more like an "Engineered" solution which can be elegant and offer best value for money while still performing.
  12. What are the issues with the test results? Draining too quick or too slow? Why were they done so deep? Why not re do at correct 1M depth?
  13. Thanks! 3m is the best I've seen so far. I'll drop them a line.
  14. @MikeSharp01 as I said before brilliance and insanity are different sides of the same coin. Alexa/Siri (even the supposed new one with a face) are shite. This is interactive information/private/ secure and beautiful! Every other (expletive deleted)er getting frontier AI to write flappy birds or fix a function or do some AI slop video of Donald Trump being a prick (hang on! thats real) - but now you can create beautiful entities that surpass knowledge. You can place your order now if you like?
  15. Pretty much sums it up! So are all the walls in your place interactive so you can live in this psychedelic paradise you have prompted into existance- reminds me a bit of a scene from the Ipcress file - @SteamyTea will no doubt find it and add it to this thread.
  16. You'll need to add one, or stay away from the dew point.
  17. Oh that question! I'm on track! So we have 3D amazing world. Alexa/chatgpt subsystem is still in there. When you make a vocal request a sphere (avalon) thats rolling around the landscape will come alive and visually (and audibly ) confirm /acknowledge your request. It then continues on it's infinite plight through infinite worlds. Thought that was obvious ......
  18. Yes agree. Moving the drain outwith the building foot print is the safest option and would probably simplify the foundation design and thus possibly reduce cost.
  19. No, well that might be where the rest of us are. Here is my summary: You started with using local LLMs to develop some automation, tried to recreate 'Alexa' or some such and had some success doing it but you got taken over by the need swell your memory so you handle even more billions of weights etc then got involved in multi modal stuff and games development and now you are lost up the Orinoco without any memory of the journey or the objective - so essentially without a paddle!
  20. I don't understand the question anymore.
  21. Seems to me that you are so far off Piste that you have taken to asking Claude to create new Pistes for you to play in. Just give us a catchup on what you are are actually trying to achieve so we can get some context without pasting all 17 pages into Claud only to have it tell us that its been working on this with you but it has no clue where it might all end up.
  22. Hi everyone. Would appreciate some advice. I had some perc tests done to judge how large a soak away I required. These were done at a depth of 1.8m at the drainage companies suggestion. After completion of the tests I messaged some other drainage companies to get quotes for remedial work, and one stated that perc tests should not be deeper than 1m. Is this correct? What's the potential impact of going deeper than 1m?
  23. @Nickfromwales Love you Uncle Nick. I know you are just liking to support me through a hard time but a comment would be helpful
  24. No drain on it just a simple pop riveted box.
  25. Good chance, you may need to put a slight angle to get water to drip where you want it too. A normal heat/cool one has a drip tray to manage this
