Insuring a TF build with timber cladding

I have just called self build insurance to discuss insuring our site. It appears that they won't quote for any building planned to have over 50% timber cladding! Are there any other options people have investigated with 'more relaxed'criteria?

We used Intelligent Insurance for our largely timber clad, timber frame house and got comparable cover for less that it cost to insure our previous 'traditional' brick/block home with Direct Line (who refused to cover the new build).

I just had a converstion with them and they dont do site insurance.

Probably misundertanding and you meant Structural Insurance.

Anyone got decent Site insurance for their Timber Clad Building with 100% timber cladding?

Apart from Buildzone/Buildstore = same company  , there seems not much out there.

Sorry, we use II for our building and contents insurance on the finished house. We used selfbuildzone for site and structural insurance.

@Patrick We've got over 50% timber/composite cladding and had similar difficulties for site insurance. We ended up calling the  BIBA (0370 number)  https://www.biba.org.uk and they put us through to a broker and within a couple of days had a reasonable quote for site insurance. May be worth a try.
